Just saw on their official site that there's a new post on March 6 that assures us they are working on new songs for the album and they expect a late/summer early fall release.

At last...some news from the boys!!! I was beginning to feel awfully parched there for a while!

HURRY UP SUMMER/FALL!!!!!!!!! I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!

Anyway... "Early summer/Late fall"?? YOU SAID JUNE! Grrr...but I'm sure it'll be worth waiting for...but if it doesn't come out till late in the year I can't go see them unless they come to England...aaaah... :( *frets*

Interesting how I saw this post as I was listening to their cover of "Don't Change" :o "Things have been dark for too long!" ;D

NEW ALBUM, YES!!! I hope it's a little bit harder though. Don't get me wrong, "Gutterflower" had very strong lyrics, but the music just wasn't as hard except in "What Do You Need?" I JUST WANT SOME HARDER STUFF LoL

I miss it :'(

Sakogoo, I hear ya. I hope that this new CD reflects their harder stuff from the first few albums while still retaining some the full, lush sounds of DUTG and GF.

I personally LOVE IT that they have a history of such varied sounds. Right now I'm addicted to SSCW but I know that when I get in the mood for "sweeping epics" I can put on DUTG and get just as much of a thrill.

But you know what, I don't care if they sing friggin' Barney songs...I'm just ready for the BOYS TO BE BACK!!!

people at my school say that if goo did a cover of a ricky martin song i would still love it-this is true

I'd disagree...I'd say both are going 'lighter'. Compare John's older material to some of the stuff on DUTG and GF...I mean, now he has orchestral arrangements on some of his songs...could you see them doing something like that on 'Jed'? lol!

But yes, new Goo. Hooray! ;D

Woot, some news at last!! Thanks for posting, I rarely check out the official site any more..:P OK, so late summer/fall isn't the best of times, but I'll take what I can get, and am in the process of constructing a British Goo army to invade any concerts they do here!! ;D

John's gone harder?! What would you call Up Yours then?! :P I think they've both "mellowed" a little, if that's the right word...maybe "matured" would be better. I love the fact the Goos move in new directions for each album - you can see their progression, and it makes things more interesting - don;t get me wrong, I love all the Goo's music, but the variety from album to album is what keeps me interested to see what they'll pull out next. ;)

Thank God!!! MAYBE we'll get LUCky and they'll finish ahead of schedule. I must admit I was hopin for a summer tour, but we'll take whatever Goo they're gonna dish out, right??? Anyway I don't think Goo will ever go completly sappy. The one thing I have read consistantly by John is that he likes to do the best he can on stayin true to the older sounds where the rock sounds stay true. Never too much on the new technologies and/or digital shit. So with that said along with some other reading (can't remember where...) I think he will always try to keep the edgy sound of old Goo somewhere in there. i think They're going to balance this album. With the old and new styles combined thruout the album. John and Robby are both very buisness smart and will only put out what is true to their hearts as their 1st priority and what's going to sell best as the 2nd priority. THAT my friends is what's awesome about them. They then follow it up with .... and if you don't like it then don't listen. They don't care, they stay true to themselves and that's why we continue to LOVE & LISTEN TO THEM.

I just read an interview someone posted on AG where Robby says "We have 13 songs already, we could whip out an album right now!" Gah. Robby now you're just being CRUEL. Taunting us with the Goo...it is so close yet so far away... :'(
