Title: Booking tickets (a lil premature lol)
Post by RogueUK on Feb 23rd, 2005, 7:45pm
Ok, so, like the title says, this thread is a little pre emptive (distinct lack of tour dates just yet) BUT y'all know I have this crazy plan about going to see Goo in the US, so what I wanted to know...as far in advance as possible so I can be prepared...is how I theoretically go about booking Goo tickets for a US show from the UK.

I presume I'd have to do it online, but I don't have a credit card...I have a debit card called a Switch which I think you guys call a Cirrus or a Maestro or something...will it be possible to use that?

My only other idea would be for one of you guys to book the tickets for me from your side of the pond and have me pay you back...I dunno. Some of you guys must have experience in this kind of thing. Any suggestions?

I have no idea how that works.  It's probably a good thing you're looking into all of that now.  Harass the Ticketmaster people with lots of questions about what you should do.  Cause as much annoyance as possible.  They deserve it.  :bomb:

But you could probably convince someone to get tickets for you if nothing works out with the Ticketmaster people.  I'll be going to any Buffalo show they play (barring any unforseen circumstances) so you could probably persuade me to order tickets for you.   :D

It's never to early to plan the purchase of Goo Goo Dolls tickets.  I've already warned my boss that when they tour I will be using a lot of vacation time :jammin:

OMG...would you really do that?! That's freakin' AWESOME of you to offer...I officially love you  :-*  ;D

Well you know that I'm trustworthy...or you will once the package I sent arrives (you'll let me know when it does, right? Because it's insured and if it doesn't arrive I fully intend to claim that money!) so I don't need to reassure you that I would ABSOLUTELY pay you for the tickets...not sure how I'd go about doing that though! You know how much trouble I had with the money order in the first instance. Possibly you'd have to give me your account details so I could just transfer it to you...

So will I be seeing you at the show, then? That would be totally awesome. I should be fairly recognisable. There aren't too many short girls with bright red hair and English accents in Buffalo, I guess!

In fact, both Saz Goo and I have the red hair thing going on. You'll see us a mile off, ahahaha.

No package yet... but I'm pretty sure that's not your fault.

Like I said, if you need help getting tickets, we can arrange something.  You know I'm good on my word and I'm sure you're good on yours. (But still harass Ticketmaster just for fun.)

Well you know how the CD took ages to arrive...and we thought it was floating in the Atlantic somewhere...I reckon we need to allow at least 2 weeks for the package to arrive, based on that experience.

I'm listening to The Juliet Dagger CD right now actually.  :D HappyZak. Gotta love this song. Apparently it was one of Robby's favourites when he first discovered Erin...

Haha, harrassing people, I'm good at that.  ;) :P

I have not a clue about how all this ticket stuff works so i'm just saving the money and leaving the rest to my mom.

Haha. You see, the problem with that is that MY mum has less of a clue than I do!

Darn it, darn it...hey, you Buffalonians...gimme the names of some hotels. CHEAP hotels. Darn Buffalonians and their unfair advantage over the rest of us Goobers (I hate that word.)

If your debit card is either a Visa or Mastercard debit card, you CAN use it on ticketmaster.com (I do!) ;)

Many of my European BonJovi friends were able to order tix for shows over here, BUT...you have to use the Will call option when you chose the method of delivery or, if the Print tickets now option is available, you can chose that ($2 fee) & print your ticket right away.

Visa and Mastercard are surely CREDIT cards...?

Or are they? *feels dumb*

Here in the States we have Visa/Mastercard debit cards that take the $$ right out of your checking account.  They can be used anywhere Visa & Mastercard are accepted (LMAO...I sound like the Visa debit card tv commercial)
