wow.. thats such an awesome dvd.. what are some of ya'lls favorite parts? I love it in the extras when johnnys pretending to vandalize the wall, "LOOK! I'M A VANDAL!" *spells out bread on the wall*
lol, great times..
and of course, you can't forget the part where john and robby rock out in the rain, sliding around on their knees.. :) pure awesomeness.

It IS pure awesomeness. My mouth was hanging open during that bit. I was like "Wow...Goo...ROCKS!" of course I KNEW that but it's always nice to see the rocking happening right in front of ya ;)

I like when Robby's on the boat fishing and the guy tells him he has to hold the fish by the lip and Robby's all freaking out going "Dude, he wants me to hold it by the LIP....!"

I can't remember many specific ones...guess I have to go watch LIB again ;) heh heh

Oh...how can you NOT mention this one...

"SCREW THIS RAIN!" ;D

Oh, and when the camera pans across to Mike and he goes "We were talking about something inappropriate..." hahaha.

I liked seeing the Juliet Dagger too, however briefly. Because I <3 them.

Oh Oh Oh...I thought of another one.

"Everything's wrong...but it's alright...
DAMN RIGHT!"
 ;D

"boxers or briefs? well today nothing, so.. " hahaaaahaa
and, "come on testecles (sp) make it work!"

How about:

"Does the insurance cover....Mr Franklin?" - John, whilst trying to bribe some guy with a 100 dollar bill.

Also:

"Oh my God there's no beer in here!" - Robby

And of course:

"There I am, directly behind his ass." Mike, pointing at a poster of Robby

lol yeah, the way he says that is awesome... ;D

When they're all sitting round a table and Robby's mobile rings and John goes "Hey, phones off, bitches!"

And what about Robby wiggling his ass in the window at Chameleon West? LMFAO! What is it he says..."Perfect height to brand the chocolate starfish" or something...hahahaha...

I also liked the 'Testiclees' quote. Haha.

What about the radio interview where John's going "I don't THINK it will rain..." talk about famous last words!

And then Robby goes "We were gonna bring our own city hall, but since there's one here already..."

And when the DJ says they're not smiling in the promo pic, and Robby's all indignant "Hey, those are our tough rock guy faces! You work in radio, you haven't had to work on your tough rock guy face..."

My favorite is the 'damn right!' also, except that my 2 year old is now running around saying it.  I ask him if he wants a popsicle, what's his answer?  DAMN RIGHT!!!!
Great.....

OMG the projection on the forecast thing at the radio show was a hoot. I really got a kick outta this when a while back someone posted John at buffalo makin a face. I think the post was in "captions" posts. " that'll be the last time I listen to the weather report" or something like that. That was a classic. I love it too when John tells the camera to not look at him and to pan at the crowd stage left. He then speaks of this during commentary. Polish guys rock!!! whats it say on the back...oh polish guys rock ... it says the samething on both sides...and the polish guy read it on both sides. LMFAO  :D  Then I thought it was cute when they were all in the van and they all have the look of doomsday on their faces  ( due to rain) Then John tells security sitting beside him in van when they arrive....Just Let us out!!! cuz the guy was like scopin the site first. John had the get the F*** outta my way attitude goin on.  Robby at studio with PEZ . At end when John rings out socks, cig danglin.... after a hard nights work.... they were all so very dedicated to their loyal fans that nite. OH and I almost forgot ... sorry, don't mean to be a HOG here, but in the beginning of commentary, I love when they are all sayin DUDE we ALMOST sound professional, that totally KILLS me. Has it NOT sunk in YET?!? Then they're like I can't believe how many showed up, rain and all! I guess these guys will NEVER be the type to let it all goto their heads. Gotta love 'em..... sorry for hoggin.... Once i start I never shut up

Everytime I hear John saying, "You guys are getting a little nutty down there..." I giggle. It just sounds funny the way he says it.  :D

I am enjoying this!!!!!   My favorite quote is "damn right" as well.  I can't believe this is one of you guys' favorite quotes as well.

I also like when John takes a moment and fixes his hair during Sympathy.  How sexy!!!!!!!

This is a great thread! :D
I love the "look I'm a vandal" qoute" too! He has a great speaking voice! I also love the "getting a bit nutty down there" Its the way he says 'down therrrrre', gets me everytime......
Mike's "There I am, directly behind his ass."  is pretty funny too.

My fave quotes are in the extras where John is teaching someone how to use a bottle opener "you gotta use your finger for leverage" So articulate!!
Also, love the little "hey" he says during sympathy, too cute!!

It's not really a quote, but it certainly had me melting into a puddle of (what else) Goo.

During 2DIF: "I break my fingers to make a call...*SNIFF* And that's all it is..."

Who but John could make sniffling snot up their nose sound so adorable?  :daydream:

YES! oh my gosh... i almost forgot about that one.
It's just so cute how he does it..

and my other favorite part is weird... i dont even know why i like it so much, but in the extras when they're in city hall and john's like, "can we go upstairs?" and he points funny.. and i dunno, it just makes me smile.

Hee hee :)

Ohhh I LOVE the sniff!!

and I love the "WHAT?!" he yells after the "i wanna wake up where you are" part in Slide.  One of those "I'll never not think of it while I listen to the song" things. LOL

I guess it's not really a quote but...

I love the part in "What a Scene" when John yells 'come on' and Robby does the same thing about an instant after John.  It sounds like it's part of the song, but it's just random that they both did it at the same time.

Oh, and I love how John is reassuring himself that it's not going to rain and then he's in the 'sound trailer thingy' and just says, "It's gonna fucking pour".

OMG I totally noticed that too! That whole section is great.

*In a wistful tone*: "I take a piece of it with me wherever I go..." *stumble* "WOAH!"

Anyone else notice that he really shuffles his feet when he walks?

Another awesome couple of quotes:
"Can I be Dick Hurtz?" (or something like that) - John

"I'm Hugh Jazz." - Mike

OH! And I almost forgot! *slaps forehead*

Did anyone else experience insane heart fluttering and goosebumps at the end of Black Balloon? When he's all:

"Come to me...Come to meeee....come to me....*guitar outro* Come to mee...Thank you, s-so much."

Not only did he sing those last lines incredibly sexily (is that a word?), but he STUTTERED!

And the camera shots there were great.  ;)

i love when John says "You guys are getting a little nutty down there" too. His voice is super sexy there.

The best moment of the video is when during Broadway John doesn't know Mike is uncovering the drums and when Mike joins in the excitement in John shows and I love it.

Can't remember but too funny. I MELT totally during 1000 words when he runs his fingers thru his hair sexily, like he's on the verge or something and  then when he hits the JUST LIKE YOU real hard, strong and loud, WOW!!!Panting :P I think I verge climatic shock whenever I watch that part. Blessed_by_goo, I think I'm in love with you.  ;D

I agree with you 100% on all of that. *sigh* Now I really want to watch LIB!!!

How about this one: "Can someone turn my guitar on?"
Stage manager: "I can F*CKING HEAR IT! Can't you?!"
John: "No!"
Manager: "Oh...Well maybe you should have gotten the water out of your ears."

Title: Re: LIB.. the classic quotes
Post by RogueUK on Feb 16th, 2005, 6:25am
Hahaha...I watched LIB with the audio commentary last night, their stage manager is one funny guy ;D

I think it's funny when John keeps bitching about his overhead mics getting ruined...and the stage manager is all annoyed because they didn't tell him to uncover the drumkit..."Well I didn't know you guys were gonna go back and finish playing! You never told me!"

And they're making fun of John for saying 'Broadway' in that weird way, haha.

Although I have to say...Rzeznik could have refrained from commenting on the girls in their wet t-shirts. Not that I imagine the girls in question minded, but still...

Like Robby says "This has turned into a gang of construction workers" heh.

I liked when Robby said he has "Four t-shirts that go in rotation". Man, you can afford more than FOUR t-shirts, can't you? And then John says "I think Miyoko just peels it off you when you pass out at night, washes it and then puts it back on" (that was about the 'I'm a Healthwalker' shirt, haha)

OMG supafirecross, I LOVE when he says that, "Can you turn my guitar on? He sounds like a child or angelic or somethin. Such innocence! That was funny on the Rob and tshirt thing I was thinkin the same thing. Can't he afford more than promo style and commercial style shirts and he needs more than hes got or something. His poor wife havin to peel em off. Haha! Another part I ABSOLUTLY LOVE is in the middle of NAME when him and Robby are playin side by side during the just guitar part. They totally rocked that moment. They were so insync and you can feel that thru the music. I think the band was a little miffed over the american flag layin there in a heap!  I like when John was givin Mike shit about hitting the drums like a man. The drums were so wet the vibes weren't comin out of it like normal. I was actually feelin like an imature child when John was talkin about Jewel. I got all Jealous!!! He was bitchin at manager and Robby because the F***ed up his chances with her. I was all like GOOD!!! I liked Johns little story about skateboardin too. and VANDALIZING the inside of the windows... tisk tisk!!!   A  R  G  H    I gotta get outta this post...I can go on and on. Sad thing is my 2 yr old...I named her Julia, half because I Love Julia Roberts, and I like Jewel. So we named her that and we call her Jewel. After hearing Johnny say all that I was like hating Jewel. But I suppressed the emotion as best I could, cuz after all nothing became of it.

I've got another quote.  :P

I don't remember exactly what John said, but Robby said "Look, Buffalonians!" And John makes fun of the mad looking guy in the corner.

Also, he laughed at the guy in the original GGD t-shirt from the first tour and he made noises like he was imitating a crazy jumping man. It was good.  ;D

I love it when he says in the beginning of slide 'here we go' in that way, I've noticed myself saying it.  When my husband wants to just argue I say that.  It hacks him off because the goos get on his nerves.  Maybe thats why I love them so much.

I also loved the end of the show where John said "You guys are the best. This was the best Fouth Of July ever, ever, ever, ever! Give yourself some love. You have no idea how much we love you- goodnight. Thank you for sticking around." :rockin:

Also, after watching Behind The Music I keep saying "its such a rock cliche" and throwing my hand up in the air"
How my friends love to listen to me!

I don't know about you guys, but my favorite part of the CD/DVD is how Robby's voice SOUNDS..... rarrrrrrr!! they just really captured the way he sounds when he's singing, not screaming, and I love that!

oh, and of course, I love when they talk about fans for peace on the commentary ;D

dude, don't say that! the UK rocks! it's an awesome country! (except for f*ing Charles Clarke's new f*ing immigration policies that will make it a lot harder for me to stay here) but seriously, the UK is a great place to live, and hopefully the goos will tour here soon :-)

Love & Light
Myshele :-)

OMG...YOU'RE Myshele! :o Dude, I like, worship you. For you created Heavenly Intoxication, and I LIVE on that site!

In all seriousness, it's the single best Robby fansite on the entire web and you should be SO proud. I signed your guest book and everything, heh heh...

But as a native UKer, I have to insist that living here DOES suck, ahaha. That said, I think I'd rather be living here than the US right now. The situation there is kinda scary  :-/ (but let's not get into all that.)

You go to Edinburgh, right? Not that I stalk you or anything. Well not much, ahahaha. I applied there...I ended up making york my first choice though, which is where I ended up...

Sorry I'm just waffling at you now. But seriously, great site! And fans for peace! Great organisation!  ;D

And also you've met Robby so therefore you are a demi-God. Robby obviously being God and all who are touched by him gaining some of his Godly status through osmosis  ;D

And yes he has an awesome voice. Whle I think about it, I LOVE the way he says 'Good Charamel'. I think it's the rhotic 'R' (spot the linguistics student, y'all  :P ) and the fact that where I come from, 'Caramel' has three syllables while Robby pronounces it with two...

Ok Lea, shut up already! Geez! I could waffle for England  ::)

omg you sure can babble, you're getting worse, every forum you just have the longest posts, i bet you would win any forum award for longest post lmao.

and its just the band part of living in the uk that sucks cause none of the ones i like ever come here cause all my fav bands are american, that is the part of the UK that sucks most, although i can think of a few other things that do as well, but on the whole its a pretty good place to live lol, but i would prefer america for the bands mainly

mwhahaha evil laugh. I got the thread back to page one. I find myself saying "can you get me that" the stilted way John says it when hes asking for the banner. At work I annoyed everyone!
Also, after watching Behind The Music I keep saying "its such a rock cliche" and throwing my hand up in the air"
How my friends love to listen to me!
