I put on the tv and found a show that was playing music videos (which was rare for me because I grew up in the country so no cable) and Name came on. I loved it right away. I sat up and said to myself, "This is going to be my favourite song, ever. I can feel it." Unfortunately they didn't say who it was by so I was left wondering for weeks afterwards! I finally caught it on the radio and they said the band, and I went and got the CD the very next day. That was when ABNG first came out. |

I was at a �friend's house when a close friend said to me "Lea, I've gotta introduce you to this great band..give 'em a listen..." and put Dizzy up the Girl on the CD player. A light went on inside my head. Damn this sounds good. "Ok, who the hell are this band and why am I only just hearing about them?" "The Goo Goo Dolls." "The...what?" It was love at first listen. �:love: That was something like 5 years ago now. I never did thank my friend properly. ETA: *points* I'm addicted. LMAO. I post too much! :-[ :P |

(I was doing homework at my desk and it was unseasonably warm out. Why do I remember that?) Of course, I'm sure I had heard at least "Name" before that. But Iris was the first song I consciously loved. |

I heard don't beat my a$$, and my foster brother had recorded it for me on a tape. I loved it!!! Had no idea who it was, but that was the first song I heard. Several years later I ran across hold me up, and since then have liked them, then abng came out, and I have been obsessed since. Wonder if I still have that tape with don't beat my a$$ still. I think it also had new kids on the block and mc hammer, and pm dawn as well. (how embarrasing!!) |

I heard it on the radio all the time and i didn't like it. I was about 10. I also remember broadway but it wasn't really my thing. Then last year my friend was playing abng and i heard slave girl and i loved it!!!!!! that song seemed really funny at the time. |

Amazingly enough that show was syndicated on Australian radio every Sunday afternoon, and I used to tune in all the time. Fell in love with that song and it will remain my favourite song forever! ;D |

My twin bought it when it came out (1998 or something) and played it over and over and over, but I only ever heard it through the door in her room, so I didn't hear it properly. Course about a week after she got it the song was everywhere, as was John. The obsession begins.............................. |
