Title: Batman to Debut Huge Post by partygoober on Jun 28th, 2008, 7:11am Not only is Oscar buzz already growing about Heath Ledger's performance as The Joker, but. Reports are coming in that the pre-sales for the new Batman movie, The Dark Knight, are selling out. Fast! Theaters are having to add extra screenings at night just to accommodate. Fandango is also reporting that dozens of showtimes for the film have already been sold out. The movie isn't even set to open until Friday July 18th! Several movie theaters will be showing the movie at 12:01am on Thursday/Friday night. Many have even added 3:00am showings due to consumer demand. Will U be watching opening night? aww...RIP Heath |

Title: Re: Batman to Debut Huge Post by Shannon on Jun 28th, 2008, 10:06am I just read about this today. I can't wait to see it either. I'm still so upset by his death. What a huge loss. RIP Heath. |

Title: Re: Batman to Debut Huge Post by ChickenCookie on Jul 1st, 2008, 11:36am Ordinarily, you wouldn't catch me dead in a Batman movie, but I'll be seeing this one. Not opening weekend, but fairly soon after it opens. It's still so hard to process that Heath is gone. I get very sad when I think about all the incredible performances we will now never get to see because he's gone. :'( |

Title: Re: Batman to Debut Huge Post by lionhill on Jul 1st, 2008, 11:50am I love superhero movies, so I'm definitely going to see this one. And besides, what I've seen of trailers and such, it looks epic. I'm still bummed about Heath, though :/ And a lot more than I would've thought. |

Title: Re: Batman to Debut Huge Post by nmf016 on Jul 1st, 2008, 5:18pm I have next to no interest in any superhero/action movies, but the constant promoting apparently worked on me. I'll be seeing it at midnight at the IMAX opening day (I don't really care to see it right away, but the people I'm going with MUST. SEE. IT. IMMEDIATELY.). |

Title: Re: Batman to Debut Huge Post by Pondering My Fate on Jul 2nd, 2008, 11:31am No, but I'll probably be stuck working at the theater that night and will likely want to jump off a cliff/bridge/large deathy object. If you guys never hear from me again, you can have my CDs. And lol Kristyn, I don't know if that was a jab at Nicole or a "no fair, nobody wants to go with me!" but it seems like I can never find people to go to movies that I want to see, even though I can get them in for free. I'm that lame! :P |

I don't know how to take it either... if it was a jab, I swear, I can be moderately pleasant in person to people I like. :D I rarely go to movies because I hate spending money, especially on something so intangible. I don't think I've been to a theatre since November, and that was because I wasn't paying. :D Now, if someone was offering free movies, I would totally go with someone even if I didn't especially want to see it (aside from horror/torture movies). |

Title: Re: Batman to Debut Huge Post by nmf016 on Jul 18th, 2008, 2:12am Just got home from the midnight showing. I saw a whooooole lot of Jokers, Batmans (Batmen?), and a Robin, who, uhhhhh, apparently didn't get the memo. :D The Joker was certainly the best part. Heath Ledger was amazing in it. If the Joker appears in the next movie, there's no way the new one could live up to this one. :( |

Title: Re: Batman to Debut Huge Post by Shannon on Jul 18th, 2008, 10:57am I keep reading how awesome Heath is in this role. People magazine gave the movie 4 stars and they're usually harsh. EDIT: Nicole....now that you've seen it. Would you say it's appropriate or not for an 8 year old? Is it too scary/dark? My son is dying to see it but I won't let him until I know more about it from people who've seen it. |

I agree. Heath Ledger did an amazing job portraying the Joker, right down to the signature blood-curdling laugh. And I think I need to watch the movie again, since I somehow missed seeing Robin in it. :P |
