I just... I cringe when people embarrass themselves. It's like I feel shame for the people who don't. I have to keep changing the channel when it gets too bad.

I wish they wouldn't focus so much on the bad singers. They focus more on the entertainment value than the actual singing talent. I have a friend who is an amazing singer, she won a trip to try out for this seasons American Idol, she didn't make it past the first round. If she had been horrible she probably would have had a better chance of making it through.
It has been half an hour and there hasn't been a single person that can actually sing.

Just my opinion.

A friend of mine tried out a few years ago, and didn't make it past the first round either. She used to sing at weddings...her voice was absolutely amazing. She happened to overhear someone telling the judges in the first round (not the round we see on tv) that starting with her group, they had to pick the worst of each to move on to see Paula, Randy, & Simon. So yes, it's fixed...but it's just so much fun to watch.

The only "winner" that I've ever liked was Kelly Clarkson. Every other season, I've rooted for someone else.

Chris Daughtry is my favorite. I think losing was the best thing for him and his career. If he had won, he would have to move away from the rock and more towards the popish feel, which isn't him. His CD is one of my favorites.

Carrie Underwood is absolutely amazing. She is breaking all sorts of country music records and winning awards left and right.

I also agree that it was good Chris didn't win. Now he has absolute creative control over his music.

I was laughing so hard at the poor lady trying to sing Kiss tonight. It really is sad but it's just so funny.

Tonight is just awful too....I had to turn it off. 2 hours of talentless people is just way too long for me. I'll probably wait until they get to the hollywood episodes before I start to really watch it again.

I watched an hour then couldn't take it anymore. How about the chick from Texas with her boobs down to her knees with the platinum blonde hair and bright red lipstick? She was all the entertainment I needed for the night. LMAO!!!!

My sister was watching it last night, she left the TV on while we were watching a slideshow of the pictures and I heard some of the horrid singers...I glanced at her and we laughed...

But still, I see your point Nicole, I feel now it's more for the entertainment value rather than the actual talent.

yeah, that also explains why the people are so shocked when Simon tells them they can't sing...I remember the first season I was like DUH. are these people slow? how could you not tell if you were an awful singer? Makes a little more sense now, but you'd think some of these people would know that the only reason they made it through was because they were so bad.

Randy is getting to be like Simon .. I only think it is funny when Simon makes fun though.

Is anyone else REALLY annoyed when people go to the wrong door? EVERY city they do that. It is so annoying, better planning needs to be done by AI!

I think that the 16 year old that was a born a crack-baby is really good! And that long time AI idol fan was too funny. I did feel bad that she was such a big fan, and didn't make it though.

Also, when Jewel was on .. that definitly sucked when her big fan was entering, and Jewel had to reject her. I thought Jewel was pretty mean that night.

i just can't get into the auditions, or the show anymore. . .i was dedicated the first 3 seasons, but i've gotten bored with it now. . .

someone else already mentioned this, but i feel horrible for them when they embarass themselves, it's like i'm up there making a fool out of myself! i watched the first half hour of the first night and it was muted for like 28 of the 30 minutes. . .i haven't watched it since.

i thought Jewel was pretty mean, too and Randy is catching up with Simon with his remarks and poor Paula, what to say about her. . .i feel embarassed for her too and Rosie is really giving her a hard time. . .

somebody let me know what they hit the top 12, then i'll tune in. . . ;D

just thought of something. . .remember from the second season, Keith i think was his name. . .he sang Like A Virgin and I Wanna Dance with Somebody? he had on a green sweater and did these crazy dance moves. . .he is the only one i've ever really laughed at. . .his audition was the best worst one ever!

That guy was classic!!! If you thought he was hysterical, you would have loved the girl who was the "biggest american idol fan". She had me laughing so hard I was in tears.

I completely lost interest in the audtions this year. After watching about an hour I was completely bored. I definitely enjoy it when it's more into the competition.
