Title: Rant, Rave, Confession Post by the purple o on Dec 11th, 2006, 7:43pm Post yours too. Its good to let off some steam, and/or brag about something. Rant: Christmas shopping and crowds at the Mall. I went Christmas shopping yesterday and the mall was so crowded. I didn't end up buying anything, so I have purchased absolutely no presents for Christmas. Rave: I made some peanut butter kiss cookies today and they are delicious! Confession: I had seven PB cookies today. |

Some lame rave. confession: I can't post any pictures in the "I Drew something" thread because I don't know how to use Photoshop or Adobe or whatever it is we have on our PC, and I wouldn't have a clue how to upload the picture either. But I can draw a mean picture on paper...as if that counts for anything. :'( |

I'm not saying I loved living in a mess, but it's my mess, and I was okay with it. Especially my own bedroom. Pth. It's my bedroom, if the child enters it, even if it is clean, I'll probably eat him alive. Grr. On top of that, my cat is not a happy camper. We gave her and her brother a frickin' bath, and then put flea meds on their necks, and the fleas came back! It's not so bad with Droogy, but Bain Sidhe(Banshee) won't stop scratching, and she's got scabs, and her fur is not looking so nice, and she's lost a lot of weight, and isn't gaining it back(we think she might have a tapeworm)...Maybe the vet will be able to do something, which is why we've scheduled an appointment on Thursday. She's not gonna like that(she doesn't like car rides). And no body has even given me their Christmas lists yet, I don't know what the Devil anyone wants! Not to mention that no body with a car has said "Let's go to the mall and start Christmas shopping!" Twelve days until Christmas, and all I know is we've got a tree tagged! Pth. Rave: I cleaned my room. I even vacuumed my bed. Confession: I did not clean in the underneath of my bed. |

They make you feel great and happy during the dream, then you walk up and realize "Oh, that's right. I'm still single". >:( Rave: I have overclocked my 6400 Duo Core from 2.13 GHZ to 3 GHZ. I had to give it a boost in the voltage department to hit that speed and thusly I'm slightly worried about cooling issues in summer, but for now I'm sitting pretty at a steady 50C-55C. I absolutely love the speed though. they don't even sell processors with this speed yet! Along with my Geforce 7950 GT KO, this machine just eats up anything a game throws at it. I'm such a dork. 8) Confession: I put on the Original French Les Miserables Album today and sang along to it, even while only having a small understanding of the lyrics. I even act it out at times. I am destined for the stage damnit! |

As of right now, Tara has to ask her dad, but he's usually cool with driving, so I hopefully will be going to the second show. As of the first show, I called my friend Clo and asked her if she wanted to go with me to the first one, so I hopefully can get rail! That would be pretty awesome if I did....As of right now, this is out of my hands and I don't like it one bit.... Rave: I just visited the Youth Co-ordinator at my church and gave her a gift I made her and I am so estatic about it, she loved it!! It made my day! Rave: Yesterday my sculpture teacher was conferencing with all of the students because it was our last class. So what does he say to me? "Christina? You're a great fuckin' student." I laughed, and he was like, "No, seriously! you'reagreatfuckin'student." Later that night I checked to see if he posted the grades up and I got an A+ for the semester. ;D Confession: I abolutely cannot listen to A Boy Named Goo or Superstar Carwash without singing along. I didn't realize this until my roommate walked in on my bad singalongs twice. It was always on some ridiculous lyric like "I'm holding out for cheaper Chinese food!" too. Sure enough I'm doing it right now. :P |

The dresser must be four or five feet wide, with a mirror to match. The bed is a big four-poster, and it's a Queen. But it can't...handle...the mattress...and a few people...Like, it's fine with just the mattress and me, but anytime my mom sits down I get nervous, and it freaking BROKE last night when my brother was moving around....*grumble* The Queen best not be a hefty one... We have a little turn around on one side of the driveway since we had 5 cars and a trailer "living" at my house for a couple years. Everyone but me REFUSES to park in the turnaround. They all just park next to it so no one can use it. So when I get home after everyone else, the driveway is full, everyone is mad they need to go move cars, and there's an EMPTY turnaround spot. Small rave: In the dryer months, since I'm the only one who will park in the turnaround, I can drive right across the lawn (white trash, hooray!) to park and leave the turnaround, so I dont have to deal wth moving cars. |

So i emailed somebody that works at the Convocation Center and asked about it and they said that the show was general admission and it was just a way of tracking ticket sales or something like that. I am on JV2 and I am one of the people with the least amount of gymnastics experience out of all the girls. Everything I do is basic beginner gymnastics: cartwheels, back walkovers, etc. I always compete on beam becasue it is the only event that I have all the required tricks for. After the meet, my parents came up to me and told me that with intense training, I can be on varsity next year. Now that sounds like something an athlete might want to hear from their parents, but this pisses me off. I tried explaining to them that it is mentally and physically not possible for me to learn so many tricks by next season. The girls on varsity have all been training for this their whole lives, some since they were only two years old. I started when I was six I think and have done it off and on for short periods of time since then. Varsity does a whole lot of crazy tricks, most of which I can't even pronounce. They do fricking backflips on the beam, which is only four inches wide. I told my mom htat I would never, EVER even WANT to try doing some of those things, even if I was capable of doing them, which I never will be. Then she said, "But I thought you were a daredevil... you love riding roller coasters, those are scary." WTF?! She was comparing doing gymnasting to riding a fucking roller coaster! You don't have to DO anything to ride a roller coaster! You just sit there! Gymnastics is rated the hardest sport, you have to take lots of time and do lots of drills to lead up to even the simplest tricks. All of your muscle movements have to be perfect in order for you to not die while trying some of these things. You don't just wake up and decide that you are confident enough to try them. During competition, you are being carefully watched and judged my every single move you make. My dad was comparing gymnastics to snowboarding, becasue they sometimes do crazy flips. But snowboarders don't have to look perfect doing it. In gymnastics, you even have to have your f-ing FINGERS in the correct position!! And I think that's ridiculous! And we have to wear these tiny little leotards during competiion htat ride up your crotch and we can't even pick our fricking wedgies because it doesn't look pretty. When I compete on beam, I pick my wedgie every time and I get yelled at it every time because we actually get points off for it. But I don't care! I don't need a whole fricking crowd of video cameras catching my vagina peeking out of my leotard! Then, when I got home tonight, I was saying how glad I am that season is over becuase I need a break from doing gymnastics for several hours each day! And then my brother told me that was the same as how I listen to the Goo Goo Dolls every day and I should take a break from them! WTF!?! The Goo Goo Dolls ARE my break!!!!! That's why I listen to them! To get away from all the hard work that I have to do every day! Gymnastics is hard. School is hard. Listening to the Goo Goo Dolls is not hard! Also, my brother is a swimmer and was complaing about how they have to do flipturns in the pool to turn around. Well, you definitely can't fall on your face when you are in the water doing a flipturn and the jusges definitely aren't judging you on how you look whicle you are doing it and then are not taking off points if your fingers are in the wrong position! When my family tells me that I could move up to varsity in one year, that is just expecting way too much of me, when no one on Earth could possible do that in gymnastics, and it's also a slap in the face to the people who have been working hard on this their whole lives to just say that a beginner can come and take their place. AGH! My family just doesn't understand anything! Wow, sorry for the long, disturbing rant. You can delete it if you want. I don't care. I feel better now. Heh, I listened to the entire Jed cd while writing that. And it's late and I have gymnastics practice tomorrow again, bright and early. I am never going to be able to wake up in the morning. |

I hoped I would get one for my birthday or Christmas, but I didn't. I'm torn between the Canon Digital Rebel XT, and the Nikon D70S. The Canon is $599.49 on Amazon (It was around $800 a few months ago, but with the introduction of the XTi the price dropped) , which includes the 18-55mm Lens. The Nikon is $858.49 and includes the 18-70mm Nikkor Lens. I would prefer to have the Nikon over the Canon. I like the picture quality better on the Nikon, and I like the size and "fit" in my hand of the Nikon over the Canon. The Canon has 8 mp while the Nikon only has 6.1mp. The Nikon comes with a better lens. The Nikon also has a faster shutter speed. I don't really want to go the ebay route because I've gotten ripped off before. I don't think I have enough to justify spending the extra $260 on the Nikon. I will probably end up getting the Canon Rebel, which is still an great camera and I've seen some excellent shots taken with it. Rave: My horse is slowly getting back into work and I have been riding her the past 4 days. Hopefully she is fully healed from whatever caused the lameness. Confession: Nothing really |

Rave: After my term papers are finished, I'll have so much more spare time and I won't be so stressed out. Confession: I was watching the Food Network and they were talking about Hot Dogs. I had absolutely no idea that red hot hogs can only be found in Maine, and hot dog buns that are buttered and cut on the top instead of the side are only popular in New England. It's been like seven years since I've had a hot dog, but I remember eating those red hot dogs all the time as a kid, and the hot dogs buns were always the top loading style. Also, while I was in Las Vegas I asked for jimmies on my ice cream and they didn't know what I was talking about. |

I have never visited the site, let alone given them my bank account information! To top it off, I found a site full of consumer complaints against them. Apparently they do this a lot and they have a "no refund" policy. So if I get my money back it'll be a miracle. Rave I am going to Vegas at the end of July! Confession Work has been so slow that lately I sit at my desk and surf facebook/myspace till the day is done. :-/ |

Rant: My car died (on the busiest road in my city) about two hours ago... Rave: I love nice people who stop to help with car issues. Rant: When my car died, it was immediately sent across the police scanner because when cars die where mine did, police apparently flock in and force immediate towing. Rave: Same nice people heard scanner and decided to save me from forced towing by pushing my car to a safe spot. Rave: My dad has a tenant who's a mechanic and he thinks he can fix my car pretty easily this weekend. Rant: My call to AAA to get a tow truck was ridiculous. After being put on hold for 15 minutes, the lady who was supposed to know my city didn't know the busiest road in the city... Confession: Currently too stressed to think about confessions... :-/ |

I was supposed to be sitting at a desk with my laptop applying for jobs. An older man (probably 65-ish) approaches me and asks if I know anything about computers. I say it depends on what he wants to know. He asks me some random questions, I answer, and he thanks me and wanders off. He comes back with a laptop about 5 minutes later and wants help getting his AIM to work, but doesn't know his password. So I help him try to request the password, but his account apparently wasn't connected to the only email address he knew he had and after we exhaust the options, I tell him he'll probably need to just sign up with a new name. It's not a huge issue because he only uses it to talk to two people. He agrees and I walk him through it and we get it all up and running. The important part of this whole story is that he approached me and I was helping him for about half an hour at this point. So, he decides to call his daughter in LA and have her sign on so he can make sure he has the right name for her after I had helped him put her name on his list. I can sort of hear her through his phone and when he tells her he had asked some college-aged girl to help him, she starts asking him all of these paranoid questions like "what info have you given her?" and "why is she helping you?" Because clearly, I am an identify thief and my tactic to lure people in is to sit quietly in the corner of a library where I'm usually completely alone and wait for victims - and then can steal an identity by knowing his email address and screen name... For the record though, the guy did tell his daughter "Well, I asked her and she's just being nice - It's a small town, not everyone is like people in LA", which made me laugh internally. So, long story short, I was kind of sad that you can't even try to be nice without someone thinking you have some kind of motive. I ended up spending another hour or so with this guy helping him. He was just a nice older guy who was extremely overwhelmed by technology and I didn't really mind helping him, but now I fear being ambushed by senior citizens at the library when I'm trying to accomplish something. :D Rave: It's supposed to be a beautiful weekend, the HUGE concert series/trainwreck starts tonight, the city art show is this weekend, and the people watching will be glorious. Confession: Even before I was sidetracked by the man in the library, I wasn't being very productive. Edit!! Another computer issue rant! Rant: My family's computer had a Fatal System Error and it appears I don't have any choice but to reinstall Windows for them and lose everything. I tell my parents to find the installation discs and they can't (I'll leave out the part about yelling at them for not taking care of stuff. :D), After tearing the house apart for a day, I find a slip of paper that came with the computer that says the installation discs were not shipped with the computer and that I'd have to request to have them mailed. Way to be a pain in the ass, Dell. >:( |

Kristin can take her time...she has a nice neat desk and i want her to keep it that way I DON:T GET IT...i worked there for a year as a black headed girl...the first time he ever spoke to me was on my birthday in April (which, yes shannon, you forgot ;) ) and he said "is it your birthday? it looks like a party in here....happy birthday"...thats it...nothing else could the blonde rumor be true? |
