Title: Happy Canada Day Post by Christian on Jul 1st, 2006, 4:23am Woo. The one day every year where we Canadians get a little patriotic. Celebrating 149 years of passive foreign policy and being the U.S.'s bitch. I love my country, really I do. Have fun all you fellow Canucks. ;D |

As long as I've lived here I've never gone down to the waterfront to see the fireworks ... especially after that shooting a couple years ago. I have watched them on TV but this year I forgot they were on and was probably reading a book ;) But I've heard that they're usually excellent. |

I usually sit in an empty parking lot not far from downtown...and I get a perfect view, not up close, but good enough that I can see the whole show. You should come over and watch it from the other side. That would be neat seeing it from a different perspective. |

Title: Re: Happy Canada Day Post by Shannon on Jul 24th, 2006, 12:05pm I never thought about going to an empty parking lot...that's a good idea. And heavens knows there's plenty of them downtown. I bet the Hockeytown roof would be good too...crowded but good. I'll have to keep that in mind for next year ... I bet my kids would enjoy seeing them. I live in Livonia. Whereabouts are you from? |

Windsor, Canada, right across the boarder!! :D I don't think I've been to Livonia before, when I do go across to the States, I usually shop around Oakland Mall area and Eureka Road! |

Title: Re: Happy Canada Day Post by Shannon on Jul 24th, 2006, 12:27pm Ahhh yes....I've been to Oakland Mall many times before. Livonia is just West of Detroit. It's about a 15-20 minute drive to the bridge from my house. That's why I don't mind going to shows downtown. It's so much better than driving up to DTE or The Palace. |

I went to a Goo show back in '02 at the State Theatre. Amazing theatre and I was so much closer than I was at DTE. I was main floor, so I got there and got as close as I can. Shopping is so much fun at Oakland mall, My favourite place is Great Lakes Crossings, but that is really far out there. Oh yeah, I can't forget to mention one of my favourite stores! Target! Amazing selection. |
