Edited Summerfest (Milwaukee) post

First off, I drove nearly 4½ hours to attend this show. I got up at 6 am, although I had been awake every hour on the hour fearing I might oversleep. (Can you say paranoid?) I get to the Summerfest grounds around 11:30 am and do not notice a white tent indicated for IM members, or GGD fan club, etc. Nothing... So I wait in the "Will-Call" line of the Box Office only to realize the white tent next to the Box Office would be where the IM pre-sale tickets would be available at NOON. I am 2nd in line. The people in front are me are just learning of the separate admission fee that was required in advance. They had complimentary passes that they were told they couldn't use. That bites... So I finally get my tickets and assume that the M&G info is also in the envelope. Not only is it not, but I realized that my tickets were not all that special (Section 2, Row X <-- which translates to about row 24) However, I am not going to complain TOO much. Some of the other IM members were even further back! This is the best they could do? This is what the die-hard fans are entitled to? After picking my chin off the ground, I went back to the white tent. I asked the Cinderblock rep if she knew anything about the M&G process. She did not, so she calls someone else (who was not available at that time.) She tells me to come back in a bit and by that time she would have more info for me. I check back with her 45 mins later and she then tells the Box Office will have the M&G info at 4 pm. Upon my return (at 4 pm) I learn that the "stuff" STILL isn't available but would be ready around 4:30. At this time I am starting to sweat profusely with nervousness. (As if the mid to high 80 degree temps weren't enuff.) We finally receive our instructions; to meet at the Box Office (AGAIN!) at 6:30 pm. These people are probably getting really sick of my face by now... At 6:30 an IM staff member explains the procedure and leads us up 3 flights of stairs. As we passed an ambulance I told him it was a good thing it was there, I may need it. The adrenaline was really kicking my butt now. We no sooner got into the room and it started raining- again. Around 6 pm it had rained sheets of water. I had managed to stay dry so far. I was not really all that anxious to have the "wet dog" look in the photo. The radio station M&G winners went 1st. They paired people up for the photos. I met some new friends in line with me. (Paula and Angie) Paula and I were 2nd to last. She went 1st & shook their hand and stood between Robby and John. I gave them each a hug and, without even thinking, I gave John a peck of the cheek. <-- I didn't have that planned. He just said "Oh wow" and sorta smirked at me. I don't know exactly what that means...I tend to "over-analyze" everything. Anyway, the flash went off and that was it. Short and sweet... Now onto the show (sorry for rambling!) Augustana were pretty good but I was getting very anxious to hear the 1st few notes of "Stay With You" to fill the venue. Before long the Goos took the stage. They looked AND sounded phenomenal! (I can post the set list later) It took me long enuff to write this review, LOL Anyway, I was surprised to see how many people left after the Goos. (myself included) So I can't really report on the CC set. Although I was a tad disappointed with my seats, the M&G made it worth every gallon of gas I had to purchase to be there. I see on the IM site, they are addressing the many problems we had encountered and ensured us that this would be an 'isolated incident.' Here is the set list: Stay With You Slide Feel The Silence Black Balloon Smash Tucked Away Iris We'll Be Here (When You're Gone) Listen Better Days January Friend Name Broadway Let Love IN ENCORE: Become Without You Here

Thanks for the review. I've been wondering when we'd hear from you. First of all, I'm so sorry about the whole IM debacle. I know everyone was expecting at least decent seats and was very disappointed. Secondly, I'm so glad you were able to have such a great m&g despite all the things that went wrong. And, that you had such a great show despite your not so good seats.
