My Ottawa and Montreal review

I know others have posted so I will try to shed some light on the other parts of the show! I Trying not to take a biased look at the show It was still excellent.. The only difference between the two shows was that the montreal crowd was way more insane and both Tomi Swick and the goos said it has been the wildest stop so far (dont know if they meant the whole tour or canada?... but probably canada) the peircing noise sound of the fans was equivalent to bon jovi and u2.. All songs were performed to perfection/ sound qulaity was excellent and i was very impressed with the stage set up and little extras which i was not expecting whatsoever. Johhny's voice was very good both nights and I was happy to see he connected with the crowd very well both nights catering to their needs.ie.. he didnt talk about the same things both nights.. which is nice when you are seeing back to back shows.. again there were a lot of other positive things which other fan's reviews have covered.. Unfortunately there was a few things that dissapointed me. The set was short.. for both nights. I have NEVER attended a show where the set was a mere 1 hour and 15 minutes.. and I have seen more shows then you can imagine they were on at 8 45 and off the stage by 10 pm exactly for the montreal show because of the craziness I would have expected at least an extra encore of at least 1-2 songs..exmaple here is gone/Big Machine/cuz your're gone.. or something else off their latest album perhaps can't let it go. As much as I love Robby and is fun to watch they could have achieved this by cutting him down to 1 or 2 songs max.. however many of you would disagree. It's great to let the crowd sing.. many bands let their fans sing the "ultimate hit" during the chorus, however not the whole chorus and throughout the whole song... the chorus from Iris is what gives everyone goosbumps especially when it is sang by the master himself! They were clearly not in a rush to leave either seeing as they had the next day off and the drive i think was only about 6-8 hours. Fans waited outside for about an hour to meet them so I dont understand why the set wasn't extended even by one song! and shows are allowed to go until 11 or 1130 here in the city.. (maybe I am just being greedy because I liek them so much and wanted more!!) if they came again I would definately not hesitate to go to the show and would definately do the travelling if I could. Hope they do another tour however, I doubt I will see them again on this album.. unless I win the lotto

It was closer to an hour and 30 minutes in Ottawa by my account. Then again, I wasn't staring at my watch, so I could be wrong. Just curious, but where were your seats in the venue in Ottawa? Cause where I was, everyone was going literally crazy the whole night, I couldn't hear myself think it was so damn loud from all the screaming and cheering. I guess not everyone was as excited as we were. Glad to hear Montreal showed them some love!

Thanks so much for the fantastic review! I love hearing how everyone is having so much fun. About the set length.....I actually asked that question on the IM. I asked how the length was determined. We'll see if my question gets answered.

I think a bunch of us should ask that same question to better our odds of it being answered. I'd really like to know what goes into the song selections and what determines the length of the show.

yeah ottawa was about 10 minutes longer, he talked more at the ottawa show and messed up sympathy on purpose.. he didnt forget anything .. iat the montreal show don't get me wrong the ottawa crowd was great too, and it was loud.. but perhaps the venue made it that much louder because montreal was general admission and everyone was packed in. About the set length it isn't a big deal. When I saw u2 and other big bands they do closer to 2 hours but for example bono likes to talk a lot and changes outfit at least once and has more then one encore and preludes to a song so it all takes up time. however i have been to shows that over due it too.. Goos definately did a good job of leaving everyone wanting more.
