Sorry for making this personal...but it all ties to the lyrics. Since I was young, I always use his music as an expression of feelings and love I have. As I get older, I can't help but notice how F'ed up some of the lyrics are. To me, it jus seems like he has such an intense attract to girls who are on the trouble side. Does anybody feel like that?

I always considered him as taking a snapshoot in time of someone or ones going through a time of decision or a struggle.  I think even the smartest, most common sense person has times when every (what they thought of as a )smart choice sends them to a stupid place they have to fight out of.  Everyone has some kind of problem or trouble.  Life is just that way.

I read a quote somewhere by a doctor who said the percent of people in America with mental health problems is 100%.  I think that is just another way of saying we all have some baggage and we all have to fight, some more than others.

Those are many snapshots....almost all his songs are snapshots of disturbing women or him being disturbing. Almost all of his music is very dark and disturbing.  Everybody got problems...but the problems in his songs are very immense..almost every single song.

I am going to assume that every song John sings is about one single girl. From researching Dizzy Up The Girl I have found the following data about said girl:

*She's cynical, beautiful, always makes a scene, monochrome, delirious, nothing that she seems (Dizzy)
*Her laugh is a disease (Dizzy)
*She's dirty and sweet, and everything John needs (Dizzy)
*Everything she is (whatever-ever she is) falls from the sky like a star (Dizzy)
*A machine has made her piss away her dreams (Dizzy)
*She's angry when she's beautiful (Dizzy)
*Her love is such a tease (Dizzy)
*She killed a life (Slide)
*She drinks things off her mind (Broadway)
*She talks about the world like it's someplace that she's been (Broadway)
*She would love to run home but she knows she ain't got one (Broadway)
*She's living in a world that is best forgotten (Broadway)
*She chokes down all her anger (Broadway)
*She forgot her only son (Broadway)
*She prays to statues when she sobers up for fun (Broadway)
*She's not thinking about tomorrow (Black Balloon)
*She was the same as John, except on her knees (Black Balloon)
*Angels fall without her around (Black Balloon)
*She gets colder (Black Balloon)
*A thousand other boys could never reach her (Black Balloon)
*The world spun beneath her and scattered like ice from the spoon that was her womb (Black Balloon)
*There were things never shown to her that swallowed the light from the sun inside her room (Black Balloon)
*She wants to shake this scene, and shake with John (Bullet Proof)
*She’s not looking for the holes in all the lies (Bullet Proof)
*She called John’s name (Bullet Proof)
*She wants to tear people down and leave without a sound (Bullet Proof)
*She’s a bullet through John’s soul (Bullet Proof)
*Daylight burns her sleepy eyes (All Eyes On Me)
*It's hard to see her dreaming (All Eyes On Me)
*She hides inside herself (All Eyes On Me)
*Everything she's chasing seems to leave her empty (All Eyes On Me)
*It won't take long to burn through the nothing that she's learned and the things she chooses to be (All Eyes On Me)
*Her eyes look away from John (All Eyes On Me)
*All that she knew slips away (All Eyes On Me)
*She drowns in deeper oceans (All Eyes On Me)
*She invents new religions (All Eyes On Me)
*She hides in her room and moves from the truth, which is far from her (All Eyes On Me)
*Her secrets were painted up by the lies told by “them” (Acoustic #3)
*The least she was ever given by “them” was the most she ever knew (Acoustic #3)
*The world gets in her way (Acoustic #3)
*Her voice is small and fading (Acoustic #3)
*She hides in here unknown (Acoustic #3)
*She loves the lies “they” say (Acoustic #3)
*Despite John’s attempts to reach her, she’s falling anyway (Acoustic #3)
*She is see-through-able (Acoustic #3)
*She’s not listening, anyway (Acoustic #3)
*She feels John somehow (Iris)
*She's the closest to heaven than John will ever be (Iris)
*She can neither fight the tears that ain’t coming nor the moment of truth in her lies (Iris)
*She bleeds just to know she is alive (Iris)
*She has gone away, to who knows where (Hate This Place)
*She takes all her lies and wishes them all away (Hate This Place)
*There is too much poison and confusion on her face (Hate This Place)
*She knows that of which John is saying (Hate This Place)
*She is John’s sweet charade (Hate This Place)
*She will, at some point, presumably, fall away (and until then John can take her lies) (Hate This Place)

Who wants to do a psychological analysis of this data?

P.S. data from the other albums to come.

Way back in 2005 when you joined this forum, I never would have guessed that you would have grown up to be such an impressive troll.  A+

Soooo not the same girl.

But Shade's concise list was pretty funny anyhow.

Pon uses the word disturbing too much. I think that is disturbing.
