Exciting news!

Do most of you remember Pat from Ragdoll's World? She shut her board down a couple years ago. Anyway, she contacted me last week asking if I'd like ALL her old stuff including, posters, album flats, necklaces, guitar picks, tapes, etc. I told her yes happily. I already have the posters and she's sending the rest this week. You know what this means? Contests with actual prizes!!!
First up is inventorying what's there. Then Lauren gets to be the lucky first winner to pick her prize for winning this year's banner contest ... for being the ONLY entrant really. 
So start thinking of some cool contests we can have. I was thinking the first one could be something to do with requesting Home. I don't know. Let me know if you have any ideas.
I would like to say a HUGE thanks to Pat (if you happen to lurk) for giving me all your stuff. That was so nice of you.

Yes! That makes me soo happy! I have basically no Goo stuff, because of where I live. It's so damn secluded. I AM SO EXCITED!
As for contests, we should have some sort of creative one.. Perhaps rewrite the lyrics to a goo song? That might get weird. I would suggest trivia, but that is really not fair due to obvious internet reasons.
I will think of more, I am sure haha.

How come RagDoll shut down the site? Personal or lost interest? I also wonder when this site would shut down? it's gonna happen sooner or later. I've been here since like 1998...WOW!!! I have no real clue where other goo fan sites are because I find that this is the best, but not as many members as before, but the news is always updated.

when I first started using this site, I did not have a computer. I would walk 30 minutes to a computer lab every day during the summer to use it and to check out this site. This site was the main reason I used the computer back then.

I'm so glad you love it here at the WOG. It was the first site I ever found too. I have no intention of shutting this site down. The only way it will be shut down is if MFC stops supporting it. I'll keep on keeping on as long as I can. If MFC ever shut their boards down, I'd find somewhere else for us all to go. I promise one way or another WOG will be around as long as the Goos are.
This site lost A LOT of members when Eva was sick and her friend nr599 was running the site like a dictator. Many left and never came back. I also think many are on the IM now. But a small community is nice. We tend to be drama free here and I prefer it like that. Also, we can have nice debates and share opinions in an adult manner without being mean or nasty to each other. Our members here are great about that as demonstrated on the other thread about file sharing. It makes me happy to see everyone sharing and debating their ideas but still respecting each other's opinions. That AWESOME!

Yes! Shannon, I am so glad to hear that. I can't bring myself to post at another board as much as I do this one. I've gotten into the habit I guess, it's a good one though
