I was just reading through all the IM threads on the VIP packages and just wondered what you all thought of it? My general feeling is that VIP packages come from a separate pool of tickets than the IM presale tickets do. I realize it's a lot of money but some people actually do have it and will spend it. I don't know. I just don't get worked up about this kind of thing. You either buy them or you don't. Thoughts?

I'm not going into my thoughts and feeling right now, but here is a post I made at AG after looking through the numbers in the presale. I honestly do not expect it to stay posted there so I'm posting it here as well. I looked into the presale numbers at both venues that went on sale yesterday. If you use that little 'See More' button wisely and spend a little time, you can find out every ticket that is being offered through the presale. No rules are being broken, nothing is being skewed, here are the absolute facts in detail for the PNC show. Assuming the GGDs and their people are confident that these presales are being done 100% fairly, posting this information should not upset anyone. Capacity of venue (source: Google) - 20500 Number of tickets offered for AA presale - 874 Number of Platinum tickets - 6, or 3 packages Gold - 44 Silver - 112 Regular - 712 (only 16 of these were in the $53 range, the rest were $43) 874/20500 = 4.2% 712/20500 = 3.5% The agreement, per IM staff a couple years ago, was that the IM secured 4% of the venue tickets for the presale. Seeing as regular tickets at this venue account for 3.5%, it appears that the VIP tickets ARE part of the IM ticket allotment. Platinum tickets - in the front row of sections 102 and 103 Gold (100% in the 100s level) Best available - Section 102 row A Worst - Section 102 and 103, row E Seats are all located in rows A-E of Sections 102 and 103 Silver (100% in the 100s level) Best available - Section 101 or 104, row A Worst - Section 102, row S ($150, 19 rows back) Seats are located primarily in the EGHish rows of sections 101, 102, 103 and 104 Regular (22% in the 100s level, 63.7% in 300 LEVEL. Only 2% of the regular tickets offered are the higher $53 price level, the rest are second level pricing) Best available - Section 101, row Q (off center) or Section 102, row S Worst available - Section 302 and 303, row O Seats are primarily in the 300 level. I have been a member of the online GGD community for 12 years and have never intentionally lied about anything to anyone. I can assure you that the numbers I have put up here are not lies. If any staff members need further information about how I found the information I did, please message me and I will be happy to show you more evidence in order for you to keep this information posted. I think everyone involved in the IM presales deserves to know what was available and for how much.

Simpler terms If you want to get tickets for the first 10 rows, you need to pay somewhere between $150-$2000 (not a typo, two thousand). If you are only willing to pay face value, you will mostly only get 300 level seats, which is not good. The shit hit the fan on the IM boards and they say they are going to change it, but I kind of suspect that's only because their inflated ticket packages didn't sell as well as they thought they would.

I get it, but I do not know exactly why people are so mad. Are people saying that its unfair because no can really pay that much for a good seat, so everyone is stuck with shitty seats? Even so, it seems like thats the way life works, so I say deal with it! I really didn't mean for that to sound bitchy, haha. I do get why people are upset though.

People are mad because it implies their top priority isn't their fans, it's the people with the most money to toss around. Maybe that is "the way life works," but it's a really disrespectful way for them to treat their fanbase. I can make sweet pie charts at some point in the future btw...
