http://www.ustream.tv/channel/recording-for-the-rest-of-us---ggds Thought I'd make a thread about them since Robby said they're going to try to do a bunch until they head out on tour. Here's the gist from the first two. They are streaming video mostly from Robby's laptop, but they are able to cut in footage from the iPhones that they're all carrying around, so it gets a little confusing and weird. Also, they are mostly streaming muted video so if you're chatting, it does you no good to ask repeatedly for sound. Sometimes, they will go away and leave you staring at random items for any odd amount of time. Your computer is not broken. Also, asking for John to come chat over and over and over and over is annoying, so don't do it. It's also really insulting to the band members who ARE chatting. Recap of day 1 (Tuesday) They were at Rob Cavallo's studio, which appears to be in his home. Robby was moving the laptop from place to place and going inside and outside. Mike was there briefly, but he left. Robby didn't type much, but he said that he had 2 songs on the new album, there are approximately a dozen songs on the album, and one of his songs is called 'Now I Hear'. Recap of day 2 (Wednesday) Still at Rob Cavallo's studio. We start off outside with Robby showing the scariest bug I have ever seen. Then Korel showed up for a while. Then they went inside and scanned around the room a bit. We saw Brad playing guitar and Korel singing As I Am (no idea why). Then Robby got kicked out and had a 'Mike reads a book' cam and played with his camera features. Then we saw John playing guitar briefly and Korel singing again. We met Luna, the studio dog. Mike chatted for a pretty long time, asking random movie and sport trivia questions and answering a couple questions. Brad joined into the chat from his phone inside the studio and the video stream kept hopping from computer to phone to phone and it all got very confusing. Then Mike left and Robby came back for a couple minutes. He said that they are going to try to stream from rehearsal tomorrow. Tuesday pictures are at the link below. It's a big picture so I won't post it. Click on the image to make it full sized. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v337/crookedrhyme/goo/Ustream2-16-10.p ng Wednesday pictures http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v337/crookedrhyme/goo/Ustream2-17-10ta gged.png

This is a GREAT thread idea. Nice job Nicole. Thanks for the summaries. I jumped on a bit last night but just didn't have time to sit there all night. I did think my sound was broken so thanks for clarifying that. John posted on Twitter last night that he was feeling camera shy and just wasn't up for chatting on screen.

"...Sometimes, they will go away and leave you staring at random items for any odd amount of time..." Been there, oh blue tarp. Thanks for the detailed info and links Nicole. I now know that I am truly a biology geek because after viewing the pictures I went off on an internet search in an attempt to identify the scary bug. "Hmmm...Order Coleoptera, some sorta beetle..." http://bugguide.net/node/view/60 There are definitely some scarier bugs, I gotta say.

| All bugs? What about butterflies? There can be some really beautiful spiders too. And ladybugs - and even caterpillars! Haha. Some are completely bad though. Like ear wigs.
