Very interesting choice for the artwork! It is up on the inner machine now.
It really seems a lot different from anything they've ever done before, it sortof looks like it's a country album! 
This got me even more excited!

I give it about a C-. It just makes me think of a gravestone, which I doubt is the connection they want to make. But perhaps I'm "missing" something.
That's a lovely script font though...

Nah, I like the font! Whether or not I think it's fitting for the phrase "Goo Goo Dolls" is another matter...

The kerning is good too. 
I notice they keep switching between "Goo Goo Dolls" and "The Goo Goo Dolls".
I think I like it without the "the".
