Honestly, I would rather see them win an Oscar over any other award. Even though the Grammy's are obviously the most recognized music award, the Oscar's are just a whole other level to me. I KNOW THIS SOUNDS RIDICULOUS. Haha

They could win an Oscar if they wrote a song for a movie and the song was deemed Oscar worthy. Don't songs usually get nominated when the movie does too?
Who knows ... they may have been in the contention with Iris and just didn't make the final cut.

Somtimes songs and movies go together, but that isn't always the case.
And the category would be "Best Original Song"
ID STILL LOVE IT OK?

I have no idea about the Oscars... I did watch a bit of the last one though.. I don't remember seeing any 'popular' type groups winning anything...
I do remember seeing a symphony/orchestral set winning something - is that something to do with something else?

Theres usually a wide array of songs to chose from.
Like a couple years ago, Dolly Pardon was nominated (Transamerica [ Song: Travelin Thru ] ), and she was nominated in a group with two rap artists from Hussle and Flow or some movie like that. DOLLY LOST. Songs from disney movies/movie musicals are nominated sometimes too. But orchestral stuff has been nominated before That may have been for best origonal score though? No one really cares about those awards though.. haha.
