AG news about Compass House and Goodol ....

Our friends over at AG are running their annual Compass House auction. Head on over to AG to see all the great stuff up for auction including phone calls from each of the guys. Here's a bit from today's AG blog ....
first up, if you haven't spent the last 24 hours under a rock desperately seeking a new supreme court judge or canceling your gig in mexico, you've probably heard that we've had a fantastic new addition to our Compass House Auction-- the Goo Goo Dolls. that's right, the band themselves has graciously up the ante by donating phone calls from each band member to the auction. pretty sweet hm? add this onto a few other notable items up for grab, such as ..
a hockey stick signed by the buffalo sabres who believe in compass house ....
an album/tshirt combo donated and signed by weezer for the auction ...
an autographed guitar signed by the goos -- we're not talking pickguard here..
an autographed bruce springsteen photo donated by the amazing Bob Mussell...
hockey jersey signed by robby and donated by his parents ..
sheila e donated a signed pictures for the kids of ch ...
britney spears donated a cd .....
tickets to a show at the hard rock cafe
cds, posters, jewelry, tshirts .. etc. etc. etc.
this is going to be one fantastic auction guys. start savin' those nickels and dimes, there will something for everyone, from $5 items to .. well, the big ticket items. and every dime of it goes straight to Compass House, not to anyone here at Absolute Goo, so your winning bid is completely tax-deductible. cool huh? stay tuned for more info. it's gonna rock.
In another bit of AG news, Absolute Goodol is underway and the Goos have agreed to judge again. So polish up those pipes and dust off the old recorders. Here's a bit about Goodol in case you don't already know ...
first up, the Goo Goo Dolls have once again this year agreed to be one set of the judges in our upcoming Absolute Goodol contest! yes, that's right, the contest with the world's lamest name raises it's formerly dredded head once again. and what, you ingenues to the site ask, is Absolute Goodol? well it's our version of american idol, run by people who've never watched the damn thing. so basically, we have you submit your version of a Goo song. it doesn't matter if you belong to a band or can only only blow on beer bottles, it's all good. your entry is then voted on, through rounds, by both the AG site members, the Goo Goo Dolls, and assorted other auspicious individuals to be announced later. if you win, you score fame (well, your name on the net and the band and others noticing you -- is this a good thing? hm), fortune ( well some nefarious GGD and AG swag we toss your way) and the respect of your peers (if they're GGD fans and dig you, otherwise .. not so much). we're going to start receiving submissions in a couple weeks, so bump up your A game and heads up: we will be accepting only one submission from each person this year, the exception being if you belong to a band or group and submit one as a member and one as a solo artist. cool? so ... keep watching .. it's comin'...
