My ponderings ......

Music in High Places has been on tv a lot lately. I have Dish Network and it's on the HD channels so I've watched it a couple of times and it really reminded me of why I've been such a fan for all these years. You know .... the guys go off tour and it's easy to get lost in everything going on in life and I tend to give myself a Goo break....often listening to other artists. Watching this lately reminded and renewed my reasons for being a fan. I think giving myself a Goo break helps me refresh and renew my excitement of being a fan. Does anyone else have a Goo album or DVD that just reminds you why you love these guys so much? Does anyone else give themselves a Goo break and then find a certain song or DVD renews your love for the band all over again? By the way .... it's been really slow around here and I just miss you all.

I don't know that I'd call it renewing my love or anything like that. I tend to be a more constant, low-key type, I hope. But I have been getting a charge lately hearing "Long Way Down" being in constant rotation on one of the local radio stations that is geared toward younger listeners. It makes me think how really cool that song is, and it's as fresh when I hear it now as it was in the past. Yeah, it seems to be very quiet around here, but folks are still around, peeping in, just not having anything new to say.

I totally agree with you Shannon...I myself have been listening to different bands/artists as well, but I never forget how much I love the Goos. When I burn myself a CD I never forget to put at least a couple goo songs on them, so I don't lose touch. I can't wait until they go back on tour again...everything seems so dead, and I miss our random conversations about nothing that were absolutely hilarious!! *HUGS* to all my WoG friends out there! I miss you guys!!

I really like the Music in High Places too. There's just something intriguing about hearing and seeing unplugged versions of songs in cool scenic environments. I think it's one of the best concepts for a show MTV/VH1 came up with ever. It's a shame they don't air more shows like it anymore. And I too miss the random conversations about absolutely nothing! It's been one heck of a busy few months for me.

I think you're right Mike. I think it's the combination of the songs being unplugged with the beautiful scenery. It's also fun seeing the guys hanging out and relaxed and just having fun. I always feel so good after I watch their episode. As I watch it I always remember that it's those combination of things that made me a fan to begin with and why I still keep coming back to their music. I like MTV's Unplugged episode too but this MHP is really unique. I miss the randomness around here too. It makes me so sad to see the board go weeks without anyone posting. I haven't exactly been doing the best job of keeping up either. I guess we've all been busy. It stinks to be a responsible grown up sometimes doesn't it?

You know, after a long self-imposed drought of Goo music, I recently popped in ABNG, and I've been unable to get it out of the CD player in my car. In my head, I know ABNG rocks, but until I hear again, I tend to forget just exactly *how much*. This is an album - along with SSCW - I could listen to ad infinitum and never get sick of. Oh, and why Ain't That Unusual was never a single is beyond me. That may be one of their best songs EVER!

| Yes. I liken ABNG and SSCW to snow. Ya just can't get enough of this stuff... (sorry I just had to pick on ya after reading your post about how you've had it with snow up to here)

I agree about ABNG and SSCW. Those really do rock. I love those CDs. It makes me want to pop one in today There's a bunch of songs off SSCW I often think could have been great singles. And DWG .... being responsible does make me want to go mudsliding. That looked so fun.
