KC and the Sunshine Band, JT Taylor of Kool and the Gang will kick off this summer's 158th annual Porter County Fair, planners said Wednesday.
Country music talent Gretchen Wilson, American Idol's Kellie Pickler and rock band Goo Goo Dolls are some of the other big acts slated to perform.
Officials said the entertainment lineup will appeal to a wide variety of music fan even for the 2-to-5-year-old demographic with the Doodlebops' July 19 performance.
'We have the best and widest variety of free entertainment in the Midwest," said Fair Manager Lonnie Steele.
This year the fair features a free admittance preview day on July 17. Visitors will have the chance to enjoy the food, carnival rides and the Fair Queen Pageant show. Normal prices apply for the food and rides. Commercial and 4-H exhibits will not be available on the preview day.
Tickets for the grandstand entertainment will be available through Radio One Communication's Web site www.radiooneindiana.com and through the Fair's Web site at www.portercofair.org
Beginning June 20, the ticket office, in the Expo Center lobby, will be open on Fridays and Saturdays from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. The office will be open daily July 17 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
