Beginning that day when "The Goo Goo Dolls Greatest Hits, Vol. 1 -- The Singles" is released by Warner Bros. Records, fans will be directed by the band's website(www.googoodolls.com) and MySpace page(www.myspace.com/googoodolls) to 20 participating Best Buy locations in Southern California to purchase their copy. The first several hundred people who buy the album will receive one wristband allowing them entry into a special performance in the parking lot atop the Best Buy location at 11301 W. Pico Blvd. in Los Angeles. All wristbands will be handed out on a first-come, first-served basis. "The Goo Goo Dolls Greatest Hits, Vol. 1 -- The Singles" includes the band's three Number One smashes -- "Name," "Iris," and "Slide," -- as well as the Top 10s "Black Balloon," "Dizzy," "Broadway," "Here is Gone," "Big Machine," "Sympathy," "Better Days," "Stay With You," and "Let Love In," the title track from the Goos' most recent album, which has been certified gold. Each single has scored across the panel at multiple radio formats. Also featured on the album is a newly recorded version of "Name," and a remix of "Feel the Silence" by acclaimed mixer Michael Brauer (The Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney). In other Goos-related news, singer/guitarist Johnny Rzeznik has joined the panel of celebrity judges on Fox TV's newest "American Idol" off-shoot, "The Next Great American Band," which premiered on October 19th. In addition, the Goo Goo Dolls, which also includes bassist Robby Takac and drummer Mike Malinin, will perform at Nelson Mandela's annual 46664 Concert at Ellis Park Stadium in Johannesburg, South Africa, on December 1st, 2007. The band will appear at the event, held every year to raise awareness of the global HIV/AIDS pandemic, alongside Peter Gabriel, Annie Lennox, Ludacris, Corinne Bailey Rae and others. The band has been on the road since Spring of 2006 supporting "Let Love In." http://www.marketwire.com/mw/release.do?id=784316

I just wrote a response and then hit the wrong button, because I clearly haven't had enough time to learn how to post here.... I really don't think we wanted a new version of Name, did we? I can only see this going badly. Unless they made a dance remix (with a GALB interlude) to spite all of us for joking about it. And GHV2 will be released while they are in Buffalo, so I can expect a performance then, right? Right?

Maybe Name will have the new intro that they used during the LLI tour. And I can't complain about the venue, since I was able to see them do a free show at Virgin Records-NYC when LLI was released. And, we got a fake and shake with our show.
