Goo Goo Dolls to lead Griffith Park benefit The Goo Goo Dolls have been selected to headline the first in a series of benefit concerts slated to raise money for the Griffith Park Recovery Fund. The band will perform at Los Angeles' Greek Theatre on Sept. 6, moving back a concert that was originally scheduled for the same venue on June 19. Griffith Park, which was donated to Los Angeles in 1896, is home to the Los Angeles Zoo, Museum of the American West and Griffith Observatory. The park was heavily damaged by wildfires in May, with more than 800 acres destroyed. The concert series, which will run through November, is designed to raise money for re-foresting the park and repairing other fire-swept damage. "We are honored to headline such an important concert and kick off this concert series at the Greek Theatre," said John Rzeznik, Goo Goo Doll co-founder, singer and guitarist. http://news.moneycentral.msn.com/provider/providerarticle.aspx?Feed=ACBJ &Date=20070622&ID=7073046
