Brief UK tour summary

Well we're still recovering from what has been the most AMAZING week - we still can't believe we've seen Goo four times in the UK, something we thought we'd never see happen! We're gonna be writing a proper review and putting up lots of pictures this week but wanted to get something down now while we're still buzzing. Manchester was the first time we saw them this year and the show was fantastic, great atmosphere, band sounded wonderful and cool set-list including Big Machine. We managed to get down the front for this one and hung our banner saying "Welcome Back To Europe" which Robby acknowledged which made our night The band were pretty interactive with the crowd too and lots of smiles etc. We met up with loads of friends / Goo fans from the boards too which made it even more special, both at the Hard Rock Cafe Goo Gathering and at the gig itself. Great opener for our own mini UK tour! Birmingham was the night we had our Inner Machine meet'n'greet so there was no point queuing as we knew we'd be taken out anyway. Again, met up with some lovely goo friends and whiled away some time in a local pub! The meet'n'greet like everyone has said was pretty quick but the band were lovely and we managed to give them all a copy each of all the messages that everyone had left on our "Bring the Goos To Europe Campaign". Saz & Vanessa from the board actually helped us with the front cover design (will post a picture at some point - it looked AMAZING!) and we created a little booklet of the messages for each of them. They all said thank you and were very gracious, and Robby even seemed to know of the campaign The gig itself was soooo high energy and the band extremely chatty, it sounded wonderful although we couldn't actually see anything as we ended up at the back after the m'n'g. London first night We were so excited about this show as it was the first date announced and we thought it would be extra special as all the true fans would be there - we weren't disappointed! The atmosphere was amazing and the crowd singing Iris back was just plain incredible. We had a decent enough view although did get a little crushed in Slide when the crowd surged forward. Pretty much the same set-list as we've had before but the vibe in the building (great venue) and the energy carried it through to something extra special. Again, we met up with a whole bunch of old and new friends and we had a ball spending the day chatting to everyone. London 2nd nightWell, what can we say? It was the BEST night of the tour that we saw! Just amazing. As the doors opened at 7 we were all stopped from entering by the doors inside as they said the band were still rehearsing!! Cue much stress as we'd all been queuing for hours and the fact that there were more doors into the area which would be opened at the same time! We spied through the glass and sure enough, Goo were still on stage so we had a feeling that *maybe* they would add an extra song tonight or something... little did we know we'd get 3 more!! We made it down to the front, just lol and had a great spot just in front of Robby. The band were just so "on" last night and again, the atmosphere was electric. It was just so much fun and we got Naked, Name and Burning Up which made the evening. We hung another banner again this evening, this time saying "thank you for rockin' us" which the security guards claimed as their own lmao. Anyway, the band were really interacting with the crowd again and just having fun, it was a great way to end what has been a hugely successful UK tour. Can't wait for the next tour!!! Ok, so that didn't end up as brief as we thought lol Will bring pictures and stuff as soon as we can A very happy Lou & Nic

What a great review Lou and Nic!!! I'm so glad all of your nights were fantastic and that you got to meet them. I love reading all the UK reviews. It's so exciting to see such a huge welcome for the Goos over there. I think they definitely know they have TONS of fans there now and hopefully they'll come back again soon.

Thank you for the great review! I'm happy for you that the concerts were such a great time for you. It seems the Goo Goo Dolls had a lot of fun in Europe too! Hugs, Skkyer

Thanks guys, we really did have a blast even if we feel a little worse for wear now! As for setlists, we got the same set in Manchester, Birmingham and London 3rd June which included the following (probably not the right order though...) Stay With You (opener) Slide Feel The Silence We'll Be Here When You're Gone Black Balloon Smash Tucked Away Iris Without You Here Better Days Big Machine Listen January Friend Broadway Let Love In encore Become Give A Little Bit In London on the 4th, we didn't get Big Machine but instead got Naked, Name and Burning Up We're really behind getting all our pix up but we have uploaded a few of our Manchester ones on our general rock music website for the Artist of the Month feature. If you can't wait till we get our act together you can view them at www.world-of-rock2002.com/home and either What's New or Artist of the Month. Hope that helps
