For about how long have all of you been listening to Goo for? What was their latest album out when you really started to become a fan of theirs? I just want to see if there is a big old/new listeners gap or if about everyone started listening around the same time. Thanks!! -Goo Fan

I got interested in the Goo Goo Dolls in early 2002, a few months before Gutterflower was released. My daughter started listening to them, and was asking if we can get the CD when it comes out, can we go see them in concert, etc. We started by buying DUTG, since I was familiar with many of those songs. Then we worked backwards until we had all the albums. My favorite Goo songs are from SSCW, ABNG, and DUTG. So I am age-wise an old fan, but haven't been in Goo fandom for that many years, compared to some folks.

My dad gave me DUTG in 2001 when I was 11. I had never heard of them. I listened to it, recognized a lot of the songs and instantly loved every song. I listened to it regulary in 2002 and found out about Gutterflower a few months after it was released (or more thatn a few... I don't know). I also loved Gutterflower, so I got all of their other older albums gradually and in backwards order. I was "obsessed" by 2003 and finished off my collection of all their albums Jan. 2004 with EOAC and another DUTG, since my old one was worn. 2004 was really when I started going on the message boards and started being really up-to-date with the band. I guess I am a somewhat new listener compared to how long the Goos have been around.

i first heard and saw them at a Bush concert... they were one of the openers. that was the ABNG tour. i was a fan from there on to this day. i used to run WOG so i can tell you that there's a lot of old listeners around... it's really diverse... but it seems the goos got a huge amount of fans during Dizzy.

I really became a fan when Name was out, but i didnt know who sang it! All I knew was that I really liked the song...lol That was almost 10 years ago. When Iris came out, I was hooked, and then I realized Goo sang Iris. I bought DUTG, and then i went and bought all of their other albums because I fell in love with DUTG... So i guess its been about 10 years, and I started with Name, but DUTG really got me hooked.

That's the good thing about goo....all ppl like it. I respect that parents can approve their music and kids would think it's cool. Nobody think "oh my parents listen to it, so uncool". Anyways, i listen to them for 10 years now, since aboynamedgoo.
