Do radio stations "gear up" when expecting new CD's from artists and increase airplay of previous songs by those artists (namely Goo in this situation).
I had to make a 15 minute drive to Kinkos this morning. I caught pieces/entire song of Better Days on 4 different radio stations in that 15 minutes. Very weird...nice weird...
They MUST be gearing up for the release of "stay with you". "Early April" is nearly upon us. Hope we hear the song on the radio next week!

It was explained to me once by a program manager that the airplay of a single song and various other singles of that artist is related to requests. If people know the new song is coming out they will request it therefore increasing the requests for that artist at that station. The PM explained that obviously a station can't play the same song over and over and over so they have to increase the variety of that artist's playlist.
This is why requesting is so important. You may not always get to hear the song you requested but it lets that station know you want to hear that band/artist.
Does this make sense or did I totally confuse you

Sure...that helps...but I can't believe that all of a sudden "Better Days" is in such high demand in Pittsburgh. I heard it about once every two weeks before. Not complaining though, I love to have the Goo's being heard!
