I am totally 100% against a robby single. i really dont want one. I LOVE ROBBY, but i would SOOOOOOOO much rather have a John one, NO OFFENCE ROBBY! YOUR SONGS ROCK TOO! I just think a john one would be better... : ) thats just what i think...you?

Are u talking about an actual "single" or a "song" cuz ppl tend to mix that up sometimes?
Anyways, I don't think Robby should have a single cuz he pretty much had his chance. The music is more about business than music and if it was about music, then the guys would be in a garage not caring about being stars. Dizzy became really popular, but most fans didn't respond to him so we shouldn't keep pestering ppl with what they don't want.
Don't get me wrong, I think Robby's songs are really catchy and I be humming it to it out of nowhere many times. However, I am not a fan cuz of Robby, but cuz of John. It's business and we shouldn't keep putting our fanaticism over what most ppl want.

That's a good one.
I highly doubt you've got anything to worry about. WB would record John Rzeznik making fart noises backed by an orchestra and release that before they'd even consider putting out a Robby song. It's just a fact of life.

You know what? I think that the band is just as the band likes to be. Robby has the most unusual voice and it compliments John like no other. Robby certainly has positioined himself is the production and idea man over the past few years and is genius at that. Then there is his great bass playing and the one or two "gems" on each CD that seem to be little secrets for the true fans and gives him the ability to rock out on occasion. Looks like Mike likes his anonimity and loves what he does. These guys have grown up, figured out what works and keep on going. BUT, let's face it - they've evolved, are still sounding great and have found a balance of keeping their fans happy while writing and singing songs that they can FEEL. Every CD they've released has been different and we keep buying them! SO - I doubt they will release a Robby single - it's an acquired taste and I don't think the mainstream will get it. It's not the Goo formula. It IS business.

I mean come on...let's support the band we love. And give Amigone and Tucked Away another listen, Robby and John both write GREAT songs!

I certainly hope you don't think my post was negative. It certainly wasn't intended to be! I guess I was just saying that I think they (Goo) are comfortable with how the band has patterned itself and that it's a formula (with John's voice being the radio voice of Goo) that works. It's definitely not Robby bashing.

It really doesn't matter to me what the singles turn out to be, because i'm gonna get to hear 'em all when I get the cd anyway. That would be really cool if Robby got some more credit and had a single, though, but tis also kinda cool that he's sorta like a secret that only true fans know about. It would be interesting to see how people would react to a Robby single because his songs are so much different than John's. Some people might not even believe it's the same band.
