Please don't take this the wrong way, but your post cracked me up! I find myself doing the same mundane things...dragging out old Goo CD's...watching videos...twiddling my thumbs...It's funny what Goo lengths we are all going to to entertain ourselves until we hear this new CD.
Don't know about the connection...but thanks for the smile!

sometimes when i'm a few rooms away from my own room (with goo playing) i cant hear the song correctly and in my head i'm trying to "follow" the song, but i'm on the wrong beat, and it sounds like another completly differnt song, but still sounds like a goo song 
just a random weird thing.
