Sorry if this has been posted before. Has anyone else heard this I've not heard of the band before but i just stumbled across an article saying that they had done a cover of the GGD'S Long Way Down. I've just downloaded it, and hmmmmm. I'm not sure what to think really, and i don't say that in a bad way! I've never really heard anyone else do a cover of the goo's apart from Howie Day when he done Slide. What do you guys think of it, if any of you have heard it? I think the singers got quite a nice voice, but then there's someone in the background adding all screaming and shouting bits! Kinda reminds me of Funeral For A Friend in that way.

Yeah, I remember listening to it. It's essentially a punk version of "Long Way Down"; they didn't alter it too much, apart from speeding it up a bit and adding growling noises in the background. It was somewhat interesting . . . I mean, at least they didn't slaughter it like that one guy did with "Name" and try to make it fit into the dance genre. Haste the Day has the song on their album. You can listen to it online at Amazon.com: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0009OL80I/002-6523598-0587265?v=glance &n=5174 ~ Amanda

OMG... have you guys listened to the samples of their other songs? I listened to "All I have", "This Time It's Real", and "Bleed Alone" and those are pretty much just growling noises. How is anyone supposed to know what he is saying? He actually sings on "Long Way Down" and "Fallen."

I think it's alright. Still they're playing it in a lower key (making it easier to sing). I would have liked to see them change up the melody in the verse a bit like the Goos to in the live versions instead of just copying it. LWD is my favorite song and I think there are so many things they managed to capture in the song that are tough to even replicate live (ie. growing feedback, and when they sing Long Way Down in the chorus) that anyone covering the song is almost destined to fail - or at least guaranteed that it won't be better than the original.
