Maybe the Goo's fooling us?

Well, I think the goo's are playing with our heads. This is how the release dates went: Late Summer/Early Fall Early 2006 Feb 2006 Feb-Mar 2006 April 2006 And the only dates that were ever rumoured were: January 24 and January 31. I think it will come out in January. I still can't get over the whole Wal-Mart preview thing, WHY would they put that their unless they got it from a source? Which means they probably did get it from a source, which means Warner Bros. or something. I think there just telling us it will be April and stuff. Frankly I think there going to tell us like one week before its actually announced, becasue we've been Goo-Album deprived for a while. I could be wrong though. :S PS- Ok, APRIL IS HARDLY EARLY 2006!!! Lol..

I believe April if not even later. Releasing an album isn't like a secret contest where the band only wants the biggest fans to buy it. A band wants as many people as possible to know the album is coming out and wants to generate interest behind it. There is planning behind the release of an album. They're not going to release it on a day with an album by a huge artist, but they're not going to release it on a day with no other big album releases either. They will want there to be people in the music stores buying albums, but not so many that it will be detrimental to their own record. First week sales numbers are important and there is a science to the planning and marketing on an album. If the album was coming out in January or Febuary, there would already be a set date and you would know it.

| I'm with ya NMF. This is my opinion not knowing anything about the record industry. So they "finished" the CD on the 30th. That's a huge part of the new CD equation but there are still so many details. Since they only just recently decided on the title, have been in Vegas and doing other holiday things, they still have artwork, promotions etc. before we see anything. They'll probably have to work on a new video too to correspond with the next single. All part of this big marketing snowball that accompanys a new CD. We've been patient...time has flown by since we were waiting for the release of Better Days. When was that? I can't even remember. So excited though.

They said April to cover themselves in case something goes wrong and they do need to release it later. 2. They're saying April so they can surprise us with it coming earlier. 3. A certain, secretive, never-before-heard rival band is planning to release their cd just before the Goos do that way they can rake in better sales and destroy the Goos' chances for fame and popularity, and the Goos want to make the rival band believe they are releasing the cd in April so they can release it earlier and have the higher sales and fame. yeah |
| How about they said April because its coming out in april?

Maybe April's like the "snow date". ...or they need to do the mixing. ...or the graphic designer needs to do the cover art. ...or they want to release it on my birthday.

i used to work at a record store, and they would tell us release dates all the time that ended up being changed. that stuff is never set in stone. sometimes, we'd only find out the week before that an album was being pushed back several weeks or even months. if the album was being released in january or february, we'd have tour dates by now.

if it doesn't come out on my birthday (feb 21), i'm gonna be so pissed. they will be sorry they didn't. they should be worried about how this affects the fans aka me. hehe. jk. ...... .... ...sorta. but seriously..i wish "sources" would quit sayin one release date period then a different source sayin a another one a few weeks later. it's pretty sucky.
