Bea's NYE Review

Hey All! I'm still not over Saturday's show!!! The NYE show was my first Goo concert & it was the best concert I have ever been to. Unfortunately, I don't have an iron clad memory so the following quotes are just how I remember the guys saying them. Just a few highlights: 1) Johnny said that the guys wrapped up the album on Friday. He said that he thought it would be this big exciting moment when they finished but the guys at the studio were like "ok, you're done, go home." 2) Greg tackled Mike ( or was it the other way around....I just saw this commotion & the two on the floor) 3) Johnny messed up on Sympathy and put his hands on his head and said, "it never works!" But when he said it he sounded like a dissapointed little kid. I just wanted to go and give him a hug!! 4) After the crowd cheered them on John was like "let's just pretend that didn't happen and go back 10 minutes ago to Happy New Year!!" He then starts to count down (which the crowd happily joined in on) and the control guys even put Happy New Year back on the screen behind the band. And they jammed right back into the song. It was definately my favorite moment!! 5) Johnny was drinking his water and decided to wet the audience. "You guys look so beautiful I just had to fu** it up." And Robby goes "Aww come on it's just hairspray!" 6) The Goos sounded amazing!!! Their voices sounded very strong. They seemed so happy and at peace. Sort of like we were all friends drinking and havin' fun! I've seen LIB a billion times and got the feeling that the guys really have a lot of fun during the show and really get into it but there was this amazing energy coming from the guys on Saturday that just blew me away. Live Goo is definately the best kind of Goo!! 7) This was Greg's last show with the Goos. Johnny was like "He is going on to greener pastures." I feel so blessed to have seen him play at least once with the guys! *I wish you all the luck Greg!!! You're awesome!*

Thanks for all the great quotes. I've read a couple of reviews but I love the quotes....John has the best quotes during shows.

Wow...your first Goo show? That must be an incredible feeling. Thank you so much for your wonderful review. I'm very upset that Greg will no longer be touring with them though. Can't wait for the new CD and tour now!!!

Unfortunately they didn't play any new songs. But! And this is too funny, John started to play We Are The Normal in this different tune and for like 30 seconds I thought we were going to hear a new song. I've read other reviews and I guess I'm not the only one whose heart stopped for those 30 seconds.

LOL they did play the whole song. But after a bit of John's solo at the beginning he stopped (after about 30 seconds) and said somethin' like "well, it's tuned as good as its gonna get." But most of us were looking at each other like woe, what song is that Cause' it didn't sound like any of the goo songs we were familiar with. But it was definately a fun and funky- cool way to start We Are The Normal.
