Not wanting to rain on your parade, but 15 tracks recorded doesn't necessarily mean 15 tracks will show up on the finished product. There's a bit of picking and choosing done after the band records the songs they think might work. (that's where a lot of b-sides come from)

I thought John said once that they only record the songs that are on the record.

The singer was battling some dark days when the Goos recorded their last studio album, the somber Gutterflower, nearly three years ago, but he says that the band's upcoming release will be more positive. "You know, it was a really strange time in my life when we made that record," he said. "I was really unhappy at the time, but it's like, who cares? I did feel like I was losing [sight] of what we were supposed to be doing, and now I feel as though I've regained my traction." I did not really catch this when GF came out. I mean, I know it's a dark record but still....well maybe I'm just dense. I hope they get the success they deserve with the next record Let's hope at least one of the singles takes off. Besides Better Days, I mean.

With lyrics like "I don't need boxes wrapped in string/ And desire and love and empty things/ Just a chance that maybe we'll find better days" and "Tonight's the night the world begins again," the song's message of starting anew is one many Americans can relate to. Well, I bet it would make even more sense if he got the words right. Isn't it "designer" not "desire"?

I think it's designer love. Because you wouldn't want 'stylish' love, you would just want the real honest thing. Designer love would be an 'empty thing', but true love and desire would not.
