this song debuted on Bilboards Hot 100 at #39... I don't think that's too shabby... and although we are all patiently or impatiently, whichever the case may be, awaiting the new cd, this song is better than nothing at all... it may be on a Christmas cd, but I don't think it's a song you won't hear after Christmas, it has it's own, none Christmasy thing going on... obviously, CNN used it in PSAs for Katrina, so with the exception of those of us who know it was written for a Christmas cd, it will go on for a while... yeah it came out against some strong competitors, but that's the way it goes... I'm sure the new cd will be worth the wait... February isn't that far away....

and its #17 on adult top 40 charts: http://www.billboard.com/bb/yahoo/search/article_display.jsp?vnu_content _id=1001306373 not to mention, it had the highest debut on the charts a few weeks ago, beating out bon jovi, ryan cabrera, faith hill, etc. : http://www.billboard.com/bb/yahoo/search/article_display.jsp?vnu_content _id=1001218761 i think it has been doing quite well. we also have to remember that they aren't competing with new albums yet. they only compete against the singles, and in that case, they are kicking ass!!! i hear it all the time on the radio, they are doing tv performances, live performances, and radio interviews/performances to help promote it. i think the goos are well on their way to making this one a huge splash like all the rest. oh, and i know it seems kinda early for a xmas song, but they just released the xmas album that it's on on tuesday, so it was out in time for that release. plus there must be tons of business guys sitting around, trying to figure out when the best time to release something is. i don't think they just throw it out there on a whim...... we should trust their judgement, because after all, they have more experience and knowledge about that stuff than we do!

Well, look at "Iris" which came out well before "Dizzy" album. I think when the album come out, another single will come out and it's gonna give ppl 2 singles...2 reasons to buy the album. I think this is a great marketing technique.

GALB started off pretty slow too and its still rearing its head on the charts 1 year after its release...also, when the video comes out it should become a lot more popular (prolly the reason why big machine never really took off)

I think part of the problem is that a lot of the CHR stations won't play GGD music, and the AC stations are often slow to add songs. Here in NYC the only station that's playing BD is WPLJ, but I still hear GALB on the other AC/Lite stations. I don't get it really...

The Goos have a history of taking a while to get a 'hit'. Some bands/artists release songs and they debut at #1 and drop from there (usually the Hot 100 groups). Other bands and anything that will appeal to AC usually climb much slower. It's only been 3-4 weeks and the song is steadily gaining airplay and will get more attention when the video comes (where the hell is the video?!). Plus, I would not be surprised if there is a nice little airplay jump after the Today Show performance.

Well I dont know where everyone else is from, but I am in the Detroit Mi area and it is getting tons of airplay here on just about all of the stations. It is definatly doing well around here. Have faith I know it will take off, it is such a great song and so fitting for the times.
