I was listening to one of my other favorite artist and they released 3 albums since the goos released their last album. Man. the goos really like to take their time huh..hehe. I'm not here criticizing, but just sayin I wished they released more material in a shorter time.

You are right, there is a long wait between albums. But how many bands are going strong after 15 years, close to 20 years. The number is very small. In Hip Hop there's a saying, a career is like High School, it only last four years. I believe that is why so many acts squeeze in as many albums as they can in that time frame. Think about if that was the Goos, all the great music we would never have gotten to hear. I know the waiting is hard. But it is so very worth it.

it's not so unusual for a band to have 3-4 years between albums. it's quality, not quantity.

Actually, it's kind of fun to have the Goo records so far apart. You can look back on how your life has changed between each one. DUTG - scared freshman entering high school GF - senior in high school, getting ready for college (next cd) - most likely a senior in college and ready to get the hell out of there. I kind of have distinct memories that go along with each cd.

I think there are a lot of groups who are doing well, but we just don't hear about it. For example, most ppl think the goos are goners...but that's just not true. Most importantly, it's not the music, but the relationship between John and Robby, and that alone is even more important than the music itself that kept them around. Many ppl say it's quality, not quantity..and I know they mean well by that, but I kinda feel that is' kinda insulting at the same time. It's like saying they are spreading the material over time cuz of the lack of ideas. The goos are more than capable of providing great music in a lot of quantity. Personally, I don't think the long time has anything to do with trying to put out quality music. I think they're just living their lives and pursuing other things. Again, i'm not criticizing or anything...just saying..just wishing there were more goo material..hehe.

I kinda like the wait...and personally, I think there is such thing as too much of a good thing. I tend to get tired of popular artists just cuz there're EVERYWHERE and overplayed and all that.

I prefer to wait and have them release an album when they are good and ready and feel that the music they made is what they want out. Not that I think they ever could but I never would want the Goo's to just pound out albums and have them suck just so they can be 'making albums' all the time without a wait. Having to wait makes me appericate the awesome times I get to have at Goo shows and the times I've had at Goo shows. In my opinion the Goo's are worth any wait.

the wait in between albums is kind of good. . .in a way, i supposse. it gives ya a break. like someone else said, too much of a good thing can just be too much sometimes. i like to let my Goo albums sit for a while, then when i pick them up again, they seem new. just like Goo has said they get tired of singing the same songs sometimes, sometimes i need a break from listening. . .with that said, this wait has seemed longer to me. maybe it's because i went to so many shows this past tour, i'm just missing new live Goo. i can't wait for a new album and tour. . .

Look at it this way, the goo's write all there own songs, all the music to their own songs, and produce there album..not alot of bands/singers do that!!
