Those are some good questions, but I don't know the answers.  I'm just someone who likes the Goo Goo Dolls songs.

I never heard that John can't read music so that might just be a rumor.  He plays other instruments besides the guitar.  His first instrument was the accordion which he took lessons for.  I never heard of anyone taking accordion lessons and NOT learning how to read music at the same time. I also heard he can play the drums and the piano.

Maybe others can help you with the other questions.

John was taking lessons as a kid for a very short time, but decided to spend the lesson money on beer (Behind the Music, I think) and so he had to teach himself how to play in order to fool his dad. So he doesnt know how to play like, traditionally.

And when he writes, he just plays with the tuning until it sounds good then leaves sticky notes or whatever on the guitar so he knows what song it goes with while he is still in the writing process. I'm sure it gets more organized as he finishes the songs.

Why does John wear 2 earring's in one ear and 3 in the other one?
Actually, there was one T.V. performance in which he had three black earrings in each ear (circa '98, I believe), but by the next performance, it was back to what it currently is now.  But as far as why, well, why does any one else get piercings for that matter?

How can John play songs on a untuned if he can't read music?
Thousands of guitar players get bored with standard tuning and experiment with alternate tunings; John is no exception.  He just toys with the tunings until he comes up with something he likes.  It's as simple as that.  Playing guitar does not require the person to formally learn music like other instruments may, especially with the existence of tabulature.

Tell me all you can about the tattoo on John's left shoulder.
John saw the image from a cartoon in the newspaper.  He liked it, so he got it done on his arm.

Why did George leave the band?
Personal conflicts within the band.  I believe their interests differed in what direction they wanted to take their music.

Why did they call the song "Two Days in Febuary"?
It's about a girl John dated for a short period of time.

That's just his style. Wink

He taught himself how to play guitar. He didn't bother to teach himself how to read music. I think he knows how to read some music or else how would he know what notes to play for "Give A Little Bit"? He didn't write that song, so he had to have been taught how to read it somewhat. If I'm wrong, then John must be a musical genius.

Try Ebay. lol. Don't really know for sure, sorry. Undecided

Tell me all you can about the tatoo on John's left shoulder.
The tattoo on John's left shoulder is something he jokingly calls the Masterbator. Don't know why though. I don't remember why he got it. It reflects deep thought and insightfulness in my opinion.

Why are they the best band in the world? nevermind, I already know that.
Yeah, it's obvious, isn't it?

I forgot, why did Gorge the drummer leave the band?
John and George just didn't get along very well.

Why did they call the song "Two days in febuary"?
The part of the relationship this song is explaining took place during two days in February.

I dated a good guitar player that could play other people's songs just by listening to it on the radio a few times and then pick up his guitar and play it perfectly.  (he'd do it by ear, sometimes he'd hit a couple wrong notes at first, but kept at it until he had it)  Once you get to know your instrument enough, sheet music isn't always necessary.   It's possible John has the same talent.

Thanks for the answers you guys. I hope I can find a necklice like his one day.

I play a lot of out-of-tune songs on my gutar too, but i can read music, so I was wondering how he could do it without knowing how to read music. He said in an interview that he didn't know how to read music.
I got to say, "Two days in feburay" is a really good song, but I love all of their songs, but "Two days in feburay" always gets stuck in my head. I've been listening to their music ever since I was 7, I really think they are the best band out there. They have a really unique sound that no one else can copy. I've tryed and it's almost impossable to try to match their sound.
