I hate when Goo fans sell all their Goo stuff for profit. I have given away countless posters, shirts, music, in attempt to spread the goo. I would never consider charging any of you fine folks for such treasures. But that's just me and my opinion - carry on.

so do i. recently, i found someone selling things that they got from me, in a trade, for an exorbitant profit, and i was PISSED. but that's not always what it is about. i, personally, hate being a goo fan that had to sell pretty much all of her goo stuff, down to her cd's, because she lost her job and couldn't pay her rent or buy groceries. not all decisions are based on want for profits...some of them are based on a desperate need for money, and it hurt selling every single thing that left my house. (it was the last stuff that went, too...i sold it only because there wasn't anything left TO sell.) it made me feel like i didn't deserve to call myself a fan anymore...and i've been a fan for 12+ years. i got back from the local record store, where i had to sell my goo cd's, and i cried. (and i personally don't remember making much of a profit...in fact, most of what i had to sell recently went at a loss.) i personally would have vastly rather given all that stuff away, as i have done in the past (and as SEVERAL people on this board alone can vouch for). if i had a dollar for every show i've sent to someone FOR FREE, without so much as asking for postage, or if i had all of the money that i have "lost" for turning down all the offers to buy cd's from me, i would have had the money to get those silly frivolities in my life like my rent and my food. not everyone has the same means as everyone else. my point is, it's unfair to judge someone's motives for doing something, when you don't know them or their life circumstances on a personal level. not trying to start a debate or argument or anything that isn't about the goo love...i just thought i would offer a perspective about what it's like on the other side.

whoa .. i'm sorry for causing such anger amongst the board... if you were in my situation maybe you'd understand why i'm doing it. i tried to sell this stuff to people for what i paid for it on these boards and other places but few took interest. i have no need for this stuff anymore, i'm not as big of a fan as i use to be, i still enjoy there music and everything but i don't have time to devote to them like i use to.. i also don't have the space to keep all these things.. so I'M SORRY if that offends people.. i'm not trying to make a huge profit or anything that's why everything is so low. if i really was trying to make a profit i'd make the bids a lot higher. i'm also sorry i can't afford to just give this stuff away.. i don't see anything wrong with asking what i paid for them (and a lot less in most cases) .. i'm a poor college student.. i have so much going on in my life right now i can't afford to just give things to people and mail them across the country. i work at a grocery store, it's a job not a career.. so again I'M SORRY. i totally agree with slavegirl

like johnny says...if you are doing the right thing in your heart, and you're being honest with yourself... you all know the rest... i'm not trying to start anything, either...you guys just have no idea how close this topic hits home to me right now. a few years ago on this board, we had a big debate about what made a person a fan...and whether how many shows or souvenirs or memorabilia you had really and truly had anything to do with it. is someone who has every mag article the goo's have ever done automatically a better fan than someone who doesn't? i have dozens upon dozens upon dozens of live shows...am i less of a fan than someone who has hundreds? how about the person that doesn't have any? am i a better fan than they are? i have always thought that the answers to all of those are no. i have always thought, really and truly believed, that even if you don't have any of that stuff so many of us like to collect, that you were just as much of a fan as someone who didn't have any of it. i was a goober a long time before i started collecting, and i am still a goober now that all that stuff is gone. and as much as i try to convince myself of that, i still feel like shit for selling things. so put THAT in your pipe and smoke it!!
