LIB vs. Any other show...

what's up everybody... I finally go to hear last nights show... last night I was "aquiring signal" on my roommates Sirius the entire time... huge bummer... but anyways... They sounded amazing as always... but after being so used to listening to the Live in Buffalo cd...it made me realize how much more heart they put into the 4th of July show... there was just such a difference... even every time after a song... when Johnny or Robby would say "Thank You"... you could tell they sincerely meant it.... listening to last nights performance... you could kind of tell that it was just a regular old show... I don't know about anyone else but it just made me realize how lucky I was to be in attendance at last summers 4th of July show....

Buffalo was really a special show...amazing.  I don't think I can find the words to express how grateful I am that I was there.

I do remember having a really great time in Atlanta.  And the New Year's Eve show at Mandalay Bay was unbelievable.  Robby and John spoke so loving of each other.  It was pretty wonderful.

But Buffalo...well, it was just full of love for the city, for us fans, for the moment.  Really, when John said "You have no idea how much we love you"...I seriously cried.  All of the standing in the sun....BEFORE the rain.  Being packed in in front of the stage for all of those hours.....worrying if it would get cancelled. Watching that huge scary cloud move in from the lake.....then the rain stopping, just in time for the Goos. Only to return with a vengence and then feeling sooooo connected with them. Knowing it was a once in a lifetime moment.  *sigh* To say it was worth it has to be the understatement of the decade.

I will be forever grateful to my friend Patti who did not hesitate for one second when I said "The Goos are playing on the 4th of July in Buffalo...we should go.  HA HA".  Yeah....that was a fateful moment.

Sorry if I have rambled on....the LIB DVD owns me.  Because it lets me relive the moments that were just too wonderfully surreal when they were happening.

Thanks for this thread. Please forgive my long reply.

*hug*

Aww, thank you for your kind words.  You inspired me so it's because of you.  LOL

I meant to just say how special it was and talk about the Sirius thing but I got so caught up.

I did want to add that I think that the GGDs probably sounded  a little laid back because it wasn't US.  Their die hard fans.  If we had had time we would have filled the place up and we would have been chanting their names before they ever came out.

You know it's a Goo Crowd when John doesn't sing the chorus of Slide....he just says "You sing".   :dancemaid: and we DO.  Which always makes them so happy.

But then again maybe that's a GOOd thing....I am sure they made a ton of new fans or rekindled some older ones who were lucky enough to be there.  Grin

Anyway, thanks again for this thread, it brought me back to the day.

I'm glad someone mentioned this. I totally felt the same way when I was hearing this latest performance. They still sounded amazing and all. (That wouldn't even be hard, since we're all hard up to hear them) But I felt the same like they were just there doing their job. I almost got the feeling, like they must be soooo tired of singin the same songs over and over and over again. I know they always do the songs back to back like that, but that night it just seemed like a slam bam thank you mam. I dunno, just a different energy from LIB. I DO ALSO remember thinkin that Buffalo was just an amazing connection to their hometown. The want to SHOW ALL "hey I succeeded" and the giving back to the dedicated fans. To play on in the manner they did was phenom! "WE'RE NOT LEAVING UNTIL THIS SHIT STOPS!" gotta love it!
This however raises a concern for me. I will be in attendance at the Dearborn show. Now this show, I think, is gonna be the same style venue. Exept at a  golf coarse. They are basically tryin to pack in the people to raise more money than they would without a band. Goo was who they decided on. Now I'll be happy just the same. I mean I will be surrounded by other WOG members who share the same passion that I do. And we will have a great time regardless. Seeing Goo in itself will be amazing, but..... I hope their energy is better. So The person that posted about maybe because we were't there...... I think you're right and I think those of us attending Dearborn outta put the effort forward to do your posters, wear your shirts, scream your friggin head off! Do what ya gotta do to support them when you go. They will then see that they are there for more than JUST raising $$$. (Being used to raise the God almighty $)  They will see WE ARE THERE, because we love 'em. Hopefully that will help the energy to flow! I don't feel they had this at this car show, the crowd was quiet! They NEED more than that to rock thru a set. I dunno ~  Sorry for rambling on .....
