A brilliant idea...

Now that the dust has settled, and we finally have our Goo DVD... I want to bring this up before I forget about it. I know this was a rare event to have a band record a live concert to be released, but after watching the behind the scenes portion of the DVD... I was thinking... One thing that is mentioned early in the bonus video was that the original idea was to do a 2 night set at Shea's. Knowing that the Goo's 20th anniversary is coming up in 2007 (I know, holy crap!), wouldn't it be cool for the Goos to do a couple nights at Shea's as a special event in '07 to make a special video/CD to be released? During the buildup of the USJ gig, there were claims that the set list would "span the career". Unfortunately, it was half-Gutterflower and only 4 songs pre-DUTG were performed. As a special 20th anniversary thing, they could do one night of early stuff and the second night of later stuff, performing no less than 2 and no more than 4-6 songs off of each album, a better way to "span the career", IMO. The only exception would be A Boy Named Goo, because I think it fills out the lists very well... So the set list could be like... (not in a particular order) Night 1 (from First Release) 1 I'm Addicted 2 T0rn Apart (from Jed) 3 No Way Out 4 Up Yours (from HMU) 5 On Your Side 6 There You Are 7 Two Days in February 8 Never Take the Place of Your Man (w/Lance Diamond) 9 Laughing 10 Out of the Red/Hey (from SSCW) 11 Cuz You're Gone 12 Domino 13 We Are the Normal 14 String of Lies 15 So Far Away 16 On the Lie (from ABNG) 17 Long Way Down 18 Only One 19 Burnin' Up 20 Ain't That Unusual 21 Slave Girl 22 Flat Top (B-Sides) 23 Lazy Eye 24 Don't Change Night 2 (from ABNG) 1 Name 2 Naked 3 Somethin' Bad 4 Eyes Wide Open ("B-side") 5 Iris (from DUTG) 6 Slide 7 Broadway 8 Black Balloon 9 January Friend 10 Amigone 11 All Eyes On Me (from GF) 12 Big Machine 13 Tucked Away 14 Here Is Gone 15 What a Scene 16 Sympathy 17 Smash (from LIB) 18 Give a Little Bit (from next album) 19 20 21 22 23 What do you guys think? Wouldn't that kick ass?

if I remember correctly from the set list the camera guy in front of me had, there were about 25 songs on the original set list... several were cut due to the rain... because if you remember the pre-event press, they had planned an extended set... an average set from the Gutterflower tour was 22 songs... the longest set I saw was in Orlando, they played 23 songs...

Giving this thread a bump because it was brought up in another thread... Still a good idea, IMO.
