Egads, the Sunshine State. Sometimes I wonder if the good weather outshines the bad. I hope you & your family will be safe from harm, Melissa.

Ugh...and now Ike has formed right behind her. On a path towards us as well. I just can't win.

Egads is right. Holy Cow Melissa I've never been through a hurricane but I can imagine how horrible it must be .... how frightening. I'm going to hope and pray you and your family stay safe.

And thankfully Josephine looks like she's headed north before she hits anyone.... Hanna doesn't scare me as much right now as it will if it does something crazy in the next 24 hours (which is doubtful). still worried about Ike though...I don't think they really know what that one is gonna do yet.

YIKES Melissa .... I hope you and your family stay safe. Keep us posted if you can. Where do you go during hurricanes? Do you have family or friends you can go stay with out of the path?

I'm about 10 miles from the coast....and can't get much further west as 5 miles out is the Everglades....this county unfortunately isn't too big...and there's nowhere to run! Plus, we're so far south, that if they try to evacuate everyone (we could go up to Jacksonville and stay with our friends - just south of the GA border), we'd still be sitting on I-95 when the storm hits, and if it turns north and takes out the whole state, we'll still be stuck. Thankfully my mom & siblings and my husband's family all live within 5 minutes of us, so if anything happens to one of us losing power or anything, there's always somewhere for the rest of us to go. My biggest concern is having enough formula, diapers, and bottled water. I can go a day without eating a real meal...it's more important to me to make sure I can feed Ethan! I wish hurricane shutters weren't so expensive! Considering we JUST moved into this condo in July, I will be soooo pissed if something bad happens.
