Tropical Storm Fay

Everyone keep your fingers crossed...I'm sitting in the "cone of concern" for the storm to pass through in the next day or so. They've placed us on a tropical storm watch...and that could possibly be upgraded to a hurricane watch depending on what the storm does as it goes over Cuba. Keep your fingers crossed that it doesn't strengthen before it gets here!!!

Wow, I remember a few years back you went through this with another storm when you lived in an apartment complex. I remember the pictures you posted afterwards. Make sure you have the supplies you might need, especially for the little guy. Stay safe. Hope it takes another path and you won't be in harm's way.

3 years ago we had a couple of hurricanes pass thru here (katrina was one of them) and the 2nd one devestated us for a while...it took us a couple of weeks to get power & phones back...it was bad! Thankfully we're on the southeast coast of Florida, and the storm has shifted to the west...putting us outside of the cone, however, we are on the "dirty" side of the storm, where all of the tornadoes/hail/etc come through on the feeder bands. I'll be pulling the shutters & getting ready tomorrow afternoon since it looks like the inclimate weather should be hitting us sometime in the early hours of Tuesday morning. These storms are the reason I hate living in the "sunshine state".

This morning's update has us upgraded to a tropical storm warning, so we're definitely getting some ugly weather tonight. Thank goodness when we bought this condo in June we got the unit that had shutters for the back doors! We only have 4 windows, with no trees around them, so hopefully we won't have a problem with those! I'll post an update tomorrow sometime after the storm passes, provided we have power.

| We do. But I don't like the tree the fell on my boyfriend's roof. No, but seriously. I've never had to go through an actual really bad hurricane (there was Opal a number of years ago but we didn't sustain any damage). We know how fortunate we are.
