Does anybody have any good remedies for a bad skin reaction like poison ivy? I could swear this started out as an insect bite, but it's acting more like poison ivy. Itchy, red, weeping, spreading. I tried all sorts of home remedies; they relieve it for a while, but I guess it's just a matter of time before it calms down & goes away. Gah...

Have you tried an Aveeno oatmeal bath? My son used that when he had chicken pox. What about Calamine lotion?

Haha...close! Right now I am holding a cloth bag on the rash on my arm; it's filled with an organic oatmeal slurry that I made this morning; it relieves the itch for a while. Talk about a home remedy. Someone at work suggested Benadryl; I think I may go buy some tomorrow.

Get off WOG! You might be contagious! Sorry, I am no help. My sisters have been known to break out in bizarre rashes, allergic reactions, etc, and Benadryl is apparently very effective.

| No, it's much more challenging (not fun...just challenging) having to type with one hand because I am holding a wet bag of oatmeal on the bicep of my dominant arm.

That's what duct tape is for! But in all seriousness, I hope it's not anything that won't clear up in a couple days and that it's not too uncomfortable.

Oooooh! Poison Ivy sucks. I used to get it, like, every summer. It sucked. First things first, make sure you have WASHED IT OFF. And wash your sheets and stuff. It's an oil, it will spread. Second, calamine is your friend. You will be pink for a while, but you won't. really. care. Make sure you keep washing it, and it should clear up soon. (I repeat: wash your sheets, clothes, etc.) (trust me, it helps)
