I've been watching on & off VH-1's countdown of the best songs of the 80's. Some really good stuff...some...not so much. So tonight I caught the top songs, and they got to #1 and it's Bon Jovi's "Living On a Prayer". Now, c'mon. I admit I was a big Jovi fan for a long, loooong time, but nah. It was a fun song, had the hook & all that. But does it really compare to something like U2's "Pride (In the Name of Love)"? I think not. It was still a hoot to see Journey's "Don't Stop Believing" so high up in the count. Discuss amongst yourselves. Even if you weren't born when some of these songs came out, you still know 'em , don't ya? Like The Cure's "Just Like Heaven", or "Under Pressure" by David Bowie/Queen. Good stuff.

I respectfully disagree with you. While I love U2, U2 does not make me stop whatever I'm doing, turn the radio way up, and sing along at the top of my lungs. Living On a Prayer? Hell yes. Any decade highlighted by day glo, side crimped ponytails, and leg warmers should be represented by the best sing along song EVER.

| I think you just described the crowd at a Loverboy concert.

You're both wrong. The best song of the 80's is Beat It.

TAKE ON ME by A-ha. Was a hit in 1985. The best year of the 80's. Cause that's the year I came into the world and made it better. HAHAHAHA!!! I'm just joshing with you. But seriously I do love that song, and the music video for it was absolutely amazing to watch.

You're all wrong! The best song of the 80's is "Somebody's Watching Me" by Rockwell.
