Need some help

Ok, so those of you who have been around for a while know that I've been planning my wedding for quite some time now.  Well, it's 8 weeks from Friday....and things are coming down to the wire.  We were working on the lists for our DJ, and have come up with a little dilemma....we need to select songs for the introductions, and are having a difficult time with some of them.  Anyone have suggestions that may be a little different, and unexpected?

I need to pick out songs for:
my parents (who are divorced, and don't really like each other)
the bridal party
US

There is so much to do that my head is spinning....any suggestions will be HUGELY appreciated!!!

my best friend is getting married and is dancing to U2's With or Without You. i think other good choices for a bride and groom to dance too are Everything I Do (I Do it for You) by Bryan Adams, Safest Place to Hide by Backstreet Boys (i know it's a boyband but the song is the perfect wedding song) Don't Wanna Miss a Thing by Aersomith (which could also be a good choice for the bridal party dance)

i know what you mean melissa and i have till next july to go!

my ipod was playin' in the car (omg how i love that little car thing to play it!) we were joking about using meatloaf's paradise by the dash board light.  cause he wants to be with her and then he's waiting for the end of time. lol

but then the next song on the ipod was at last by etta james. i've always loved that song, but didn't want to say anything...he brought it up so *shrug* that was easy! picked our song out in 5 minutes.  he still wants isn't she lovely by stevie wonder for the walk up the aisle. i just laugh everytime about that one.

i have no clue about the other songs for dances. i may just skip all that crap since he has 4 parents and i have just mom. that's way to crazy for me and i want easy flow more party than wedding!

my new favorite website www.theknot.com has a ton of songs listed. my problem is i can't find them on limewire to listen to them all. grrr! i guess you could print it out and bring it to your dj to see if he has any.

they also list songs for the different dances you can choose from or you can do a google search for it.

can you tell i'm having fun planning my wedding?! almost everything is done and i have 10 months (but i picked 7/7/07 so i had to book early)! lol

if ya need anymore help, lemme know!

You gotta have Savage Garden. I Knew I Loved You, Truly Madly Deeply, Crash and Burn, etc. etc. Top quality sugary pop.  Grin

Oh oh, and Frankie Vallie's Can't Take My Eyes Off You. That's a fun one. ^_^

For our actual wedding song, we picked out "It's Your Love" by Tim McGraw & Faith Hill.  What I need is songs for the introduction into the reception....something upbeat & fun, but not obnoxious....gah....all this planning is giving me a headache!  LOL.

And Cassie, CONGRATULATIONS!!!  I'm so excited for you....and so jealous that you have most of your planning done!!

I have advice on what to do about the bridal party intros...

I was in my friend's bridal party and we all (the groomsmen too) had to pick a song to walk out to. The DJ played about 10 seconds or so of each song....enough for us to walk (or dance) in.

The DJ made sure to play the part of the song that everyone would recognize (since some songs it takes awhile to figure out what it is.)

So for the bridal party, put the burden on them Smiley Make them choose one song as a group or each pick one individually.

Congrats!  Smiley

My cousin just got married, and he used "Let's Get It Started" by the Black Eyed Peas for the introduction.  I dunno..."There Will Never Be Another Tonight" by Bryan Adams or "Never Let You Go" by Third Eye Blind might be other possibilities...
