What Are Forum Preferences??
Forum Preferences are just a way for our forum users to customize the
forum's appearance and operation more to their own liking,
hopefully making for a more enjoyable experience.
Note: This forum uses cookies in order to remember your forum preferences,
if you have cookies turned off in your browser or do not wish this forum to
send any cookies to your browser, please do not set any preferences.
The forum will not attempt to send any cookies to you until
you set your forum preferences for the first time.
How Do I Set My Forum Preferences??
From the main forum directory page, click on the preferences button or link.
This will bring you to the preferences page, where you can set all the
forum preferences to your liking. Once you have them set them as you wish,
click on the "Set Options" button or link to have them set as your new
preferences when viewing the forum. You will then be sent back to the
main forum directory page. To go back to the forum directory without
setting or changing your preferences, click on the "Directory" button or link.
What Do All These Forum Preferences Mean?
Display Messages
This preferences allows you to view all the messages listed on the main
forum directory page in one of three distinct ways.
Chronological Order, By Message
Chronological Order, By Thread
Chronological Order, Threads Only
Max Messages
This allows you to select the maximux number of messages that you
wish to see displayed on the forum directory page. Setting this to a
lesser number will also decrease the amount of time that the directory page
takes to load.
Font Size
This preferences allows you to adjust the font size used on the forum
more to your liking. This is a convenience for our forum users,
who view the forum using a wide range of screen resolutions.
Display Messages Read
This preference allows you specify whether you wish to see messages listed
on the forum directory page once you have already read them. If this preference
is unchecked, any messages you read will no longer appear on the forum directory page.
If you wish to still see all of the messages you have read, be sure this preference is checked.
Default Name
This preference allows you to specify the name that will appear by default
in all of your posts. Please note that this information is not required,
and will not be used in any way. It is just a convenience for our users.
Default Email
This preference allows you to specify the email address that will appear by default
in all of your posts. Please note that this information is not required,
and will not be used in any way, it is just a convenience for our users.
Include Reply Text
This preference allows you to specify whether to wish to have the comments
of any message you are replying to automatically included in your comment text.
Including reply text allows you to break up the comments of a message into pieces,
replying to each part in turn. If this is not your usual posting style,
then turning this off will suppress the inclusion of their comments in your reply.
